Asimov is THE science fiction writer. Many, if not all, of the conceptual science fiction books of the future were birthed from his work. He was not only a scientist, but had an amazing understanding of human nature. His stories are definetly intellectual; some may find his work a bit much to process. But I would say push past any hesitations you may have about his work. You will be addicted after the first two or three stories. Asimov seems able to to make his stories first about life, people; then he fits in the science fiction as the scenario in which life happens. The only difference is that he can actually explain scientifically what most science fiction writers- any writer at that - cant. He also is very good at simplifying complex scientific theories and ideas. (I still usually have to re read every scientific explanation, but I do eventually get it! lol)

He is the author of I, Robot and also created much of the foundation for robots in books. Truly, the father of science fiction. This book greatly reflects his work. There is also a second volume to this; it is considered a rare book, and can be hard to get. There was supposed to be a third volume as well, but he died before it came out, and it never has come out, though i still hopefully search for it. (You never know)

After all I've said - if you like science ficton. if you consider yourself an avid reader, you have to read this volume! Dont bother waiting for it on PB! Do me a favor and try it out!
