Usually, I can wade through even awful prose and make it through the story. If "The Island of the Day Before" ever arrives anywhere, I was not there to see it. I was trapped by the description from the very beginning. It was excellent in quality, but too flamboyant and excessive.

However, for those of you who revel in minute description, this is the book for you.
