I really enjoyed this book. It's not a book that will win some author's award anytime soon but the story was very well told and it was a fast paced book and you felt involved in the story the whole time. i too was sad when it ended. Very quick read- highly recommend this book.

On the Island was an awesome book! Its told in alternating view points, one chapter from his POV, the next from her POV, which I loved. Its very fast paced. One of those books that you just hate to have to put down. I always wanted to know what was going to happen next and couldnt wait til I could get back to it! Im hoping Graves writes something else in the future.

I had the same hesitation as Jennifer with the whole age thing, but the story was so well written that the sexual relationship kind of takes a back seat to the emotional trails. The plot & characters where perfect from beginning to end..

This was actually better than I thought when I first started reading it. She is the teacher and he is the student and while flying in a small aircraft to an island in the Maldives to spend the summer with his family, the plane goes down. The first 2/3 of the book are all about them on the island and how they survive. The ending took off in a burst of glory and then it was over. In a way though, I felt like the author just ran out of story line for the island theme and wanted to end the story.

When I read the premise of this book, I was intrigued and a bit wide-eyed. Sure, there are ten years between my husband and I, but now having a teenage son, to think of him with a woman that much older, I was like 'crazy'.

However, once I started reading On The Island, I was hooked - line and sinker. I loved the TV series, LOST and On the Island reminded me a bit of that, but it was soo much more! From the time the seaplane crashes to the worry Anna has for TJ and vice versa, I couldn't put this book down. In fact, I stayed up into the wee hours of the night to finish it. They were determined to survive, no matter what. From their struggles to their blossoming love, I found myself hoping that there was a happy ending for these two people. Even as Anna worried TJ's cancer might come back and TJ worried Anna would want to reunite with her boyfriend, I rooted for them to survive, to love and have a future. I really thought Anna's mom's relationship advice was sound, as well as TJ's mom's thoughts on her son's relationship. I just LOVE this book!!

If you read only one book this summer, read this one! One of the best books I've read this year!!
