Good reading for anyone thinking of going to Italy. This book gives a glimpse into the daily lives of another place and culture.
A delightful story of life in Italy.

I don't know much about Italy, but I still really enjoyed this book! The author does a great job of explaining cultural differences, and find humor in everyday circumstances. Anybody who has ever experienced an annoying or quirky neighbor will appreciate the author's experiences. Overall, a fun, interesting read!

Interesting tale that would be much better if it weren't so wordy. In addition, the author has a love with commas and doesn't seem to like periods. When one sentence is the length of a paragraph the excess verbage is very apparent.

Tim Parks writes with such candor about his 'Italian neighbors;' at times the honesty makes a person laugh, other times he just stands and wonders... People are always so interesting, no matter what culture is compared. He writes much about he & his wife's visit to Italy.
Lucilla, Vittorina, Giampaola and other Italians he writes about are all interesting. He has shared so much about their lives. A good read; well-written read by a truly gifted writer.
