I really enjoyed this book. The introduction and explanatory notes helped me to understand things I probably would have missed....but in all I've very glad I read this!

It is basically a story of Jacques and his Master on a trip. They start talking about Jacques love-life. Stories get interupted by others they meet (who then tell stories) or by stories that intersect stories. Funny too! Due to a few bouts of bawdiness, I wouldn't recommend it to the under high-school aged child...but really a great read!

It's on the 1001 books to read before you die list....and I agree!
