Very entertaining science fiction take on Jane Eyre. Not too technical and even sorta believable. I liked it very much.

this book is a mixture of science fiction and gothic romance. Wonderful story by a great author.
This is an entertaining futuristic retelling of Jane Eyre
Would you believe Jane Eyre with Cyborgs and spaceships? Great fun, a good light read.
Excellent SF retelling of Jane Eyre
It isn't often that I have time to read a "fun" book as a graduate student. But, I was on vacation and took this along. I expected a beach read, but was pleasantly surprised to find that Jenna Starborn not only followed the story structure of Jane Eyre, but even adopted the writing style. As a former English teacher, I savored each sentence and reveled in the unique combination of sci-fi and Victorian sensibilities.
I really enjoyed this book. It IS a futuristic knockoff of "Jane Eyre" but still a good read.
It's Jane Eyre set in some SF-nal universe, and not terribly convincing. A disappointment from a writer I usually enjoy.
Well, they weren't kidding when they said that Ms. Shinn followed the prototype of Wuthering Heights. I loved Wuthering Heights but only liked this book. It is definitely suited to a younger crowd although she does an excellent job of portraying other worlds in a different time. This had the potential to be much more developed than a one book read, I felt it was a bit condensed but it was still an interesting read.
