I think this is one of the best books ever written. It will bring you to tears and to laughter throughout the book, I couldn't put it down. Mr. Lucado brings Jesus into the same room with you. I give it 5 stars.
What if for 24 hours Jesus wakes up in your bed, walks in your shoes, lives in your house, assumes your schedule?... What if for one day Jesus lives your life with his heart?
Within these opening lines lies the premise of Max Lucado's book about the possibility of becoming "just like Jesus." In recounting the biblical stories of Jesus' life and deeds, Lucado then explains how Jesus' acts of compassion, forgiveness, honesty, and faith can be reflected in anyone's everyday life. Lucado's concrete analogy of "just like Jesus" helps many readers grasp the fundamentals of Christianity in a new and inspiring way. Furthermore, in taking on the values, heart and deeds of Jesus, Lucado believes, Christians can expect a richer, more accessible relationship with God. "Jesus had unbroken communion with his father," writes Lucado. "Do you suppose the Father desires the same for us? Absolutely ... God has the same abiding intimacy with you that he had with his son."

If you are a Lucado fan, this is a must read.
Has a slight ciggarette smell... Not bad... just not ideal for Non-Smokers.

Many of us struggle to be better people, but how many of us understand Jesus wants us to be just like Him? Max Lucado breaks it down for us in this book of spiritual wisdom. This book teaches or at least reminds of us of the facts of life when living in a fallen world with people who aren't alike. We learn to forgive ( not as easy as it sounds), have compassion (as a common character trait), how to listen with our heart, be focused, honest, pure, hopeful and enduring all the while keeping our eyes on Jesus the grand goal. No one will every be all things at once, but Lucado gives us the perspective not as man but as Jesus would teach if he were here in the flesh. Max Lucado is a humble man with the work of missionary seeking to bring his reader into the fold or back into it whatever the case maybe. He doesn't use criticism or dogma to break your spirit, but the same loves he professes we use toward each other. Here is a real person who wants us to have the same inner joy he has with the wisdom of the ages in one of his many books on Jesus. I learn so much more than I ever dreamed. It compliments my Bible readings not replace them. I have a new perspective in a modern view of a timeless teaching. I hope it will bring a wonderful fulfillment to your life too.
God loves you just the way you are, but he refuses to leave you that way. He wants you to be Just Like Jesus.
inspirational journey with our creator!
I used this book for a small group Bible study and it was really good. Wouldn't everyone enjoy being "Just Like Jesus".
LOVED this book!
Max Lucado has a unique ability to make scripture & scriptural themes very understandable. He writes, simply, yet consisely and shares the truth. A quick read that you will want to read again & again
Max Lucado is one of my favorite Christian writers. This book only lends more energy to that claim. I believe that a non-believer could comfortably read this book. It makes a statement that seems to have been lost over time. Afterall aren't we as Christians suposed to treat the world like Jesus did, with love and understanding. This book lays out some very poignant ideas for making that happen in our daily lives. Great read, try it, you might like it.
