A different type of book for Anne Rivers Siddons, but still engaging, funny and a great read.

Anne Rivers Siddons' memoir really shines with her picturesque prose. The author certainly has interesting ways with words, and this book is no exception. Terribly humorous as well!

Anne Rivers Siddons has such a way with words! She can paint a picture so clear it's like a photograph. These essays take the reader through the year of her memories of her childhood days in Atlanta up to and through early times of her marriage. Her adjustment to being a stepmother will ring true to all those readers in that situation I'm sure. And being a southeren belle in the 1950's? As Michigan woman I found it just fascinating. A great "reward" book-- That is you can reward yourself for finishing a dreaded task by a half hour reading just one essay.
