The story of a seagull who does not conform to the norm of the flock and goes off searching for himself on his own. He eventually transcends all others of his kind to something special and spiritual. A kind of real --- "Step to the drummer you hear, no matter how distant or faraway" --- kind of story. It was a best seller during the "The Freedom to be Yourself" generation.
