A grand tradition of story-telling leads to a phenomenal book, taking you into the very life of an all too human legend. Marshall makes it very clear this all comes down from the oral traditions of his people and perhaps that is what makes it so believable. I felt the wind cut by a storm of arrows and the sting of misunderstandings. In a world where the winner writes the history, this book brings me closer to the probable truth.
I am Lakota and I mainly bought this book for my daughter who was writing a report for school She is 10 and we both really enjoyed reading about the life of Crazy Horse.

This is one of the best books about Crazy Horse I've ever read. You have a feeling for the man because Joseph M. Marshall is a Lakota who interviewed people who actually knew Crazy Horse.
I felt as if I knew Crazy Horse, as a result of reading this book and cried at the end of the book.
He had a part in organizing and taking part in the battle that resulted in the Fetterman Massacre.
