There is a recipe provided for each chapter; this book is about Swedish/American traditions back when the railroad was making it's way across the prairies of the country. Tracie Peterson understands the human heart and makes the story of "spinster" Sigrid's decision of whether to marry Ruben (the railroad man) or Erik (the steady farmer from the farm next door) real and poignant.

Lindsborg, Kansas, 1887- Sigrid has been a spinster for 28 years now she must decide between 2 men. On whose arm will she attend Julotta, the Swedish Christmas worship service? And does one of these men only want her for her family homestead? Good book & Includes several tradional Swedish recipes!
This was a wonderful book. Short but very sweet. Really good love story. Lots of good german recipes in it too.
Nice quick read. Really pulled me in and couldn't stop until I'd finished. Good recipes at the start of each chapter too!
Great little book. Would make a sweet book for teens to start out on, with the outlook on God and love.
