Happy July 1st !! Hope everyone reaches their goals for this month. I'm starting out at 249 lbs. which is 4.2 lbs. less than I was on June 1st. I'll be working to drop at least 5 lbs. this month. I'm hoping if I can do this each month I'll be at a much better weight by the start of 2025. Won't still be at the goal weight but will be a lot closer.

My goal every day is to at least not gain back lost weight. Yo-yo is my middle name.  I did have a brief fling with some truffles but that was because I had to have my well pump and water tank replaced. A capital expense.

The yo-o-ing can be a real pain Teri, how well I know. Hope this is a good month for you.

I used to like the truffles but now I rarely want chocolate anything unless it's a good chocolate cream pie, and I know to stay away from buying those.

Well, I weighed this morning at the highest I've been this year.

but I'm not going to stress about a fluctuating number.

im going to work harder to meet my goals! I was sloppy with eating during the little trip to Madison for a Scrabble tournament .

And yesterday apparently I needed a recovery day.

The first habit I need to reclaim is getting enough sleep! I had too many short nights last week. Sooooo bed earlier for me!

im also going to work on my knee, but first priority is enough sleep!

Sorry you had a bad weigh in this morning Margaret, but glad you're not going to let itget you down. I know what you mean about needing more sleep. I'm a very restless sleeper or else will sleep a couple hours then wake up and then struggle to go back to sleep. On those nights I end up grabbing a book to read til I can fall asleep again. OTC sleep aids just don't work for me.

Were you in the scrabble tournament or were you just there to watch and support someone?

Between my expensive home repairs and distress over the political scene, I haven't cared much about being careful with my diet. I haven't weighed for a few days. However, since I have my nephrologist appointment in 3 weeks, I'm going to rein it in so my bloodwork and weight will be good.  I got good exercise today stacking wood.

Tomorrow is the holiday.  The local fire department does BBQ chicken halves, which are great. I ordered 4 half chickens. I'll put 3 in the freezer. I have lots of veggies and salad fixings. All the cookies are buried in the basement deep freeze so if I want one I have to go downstairs to get it.

At least if you want the cookies you have to go up and down stairs to get to them.

I don't think any of the fire departments around here do anything like that. Wish they did.

This darn molar is aching tonight. I took Tylenol but I fear I'll need work done. Bye-bye $$$$$.  I'm not going to wait until the end of August to talk to my dentist about getting on with it because it takes time to schedule these things, usually more than one appointment. Especially if I need to see an endodontist.

The weight was two pounds less this morning, not an amount that can really be trusted, but it felt better.

i woke up needing to pee, glanced at the clock and saw 10:00 so I took the thyroid meds and then cleaned out a bag from the trip. Then I did some PBS stuff and I couldn't figure out why I was so tired. Looked at the clock and it was only 7:25! Don't know how I saw 10:00 at first! I tried to get back to sleep, but no.

So I'll probably sleep late tomorrow.

Today I went to a fossil gorge with my daughter, which was a lot of walking, and then we went to the beach. Walking in the sand is quite a workout! So I got some exercise in, if not the specific exercises I am supposed to do every day. Though I did some of the leg lifts at the beach!

Teri, I had to have a root canal in February. Not fun, and yes, $$$$.

Vicki, I played in the tournament. I lost the first four games and won the next 3, but since I was seeded last, this was actually a good result for me.

You did great Margaret, and I'm sure you had fun also.

I'm 248.6 today so heading in the right direction once again. Hope everyone has an awesome 4th.

I've been trending up a little more and a little more the last three days. I'm not worried as this has happened before and then it regulates back down. I haven't been overeating, so it's just normal body stuff. I'm going to drink a lot of water today to flush. Hopefully tomorrow it starts trending down.

It's hot out, but we just did two rounds of minigolf, so at least I got exercise in! Scale back up today but not as high  as two days ago. I'm good with that.

Heather & Margaret, you're both doing great. I can't tell you the last time I played minigolf. Been many, many years ago at Myrtle Beach, SC.

I'm still at 248.6.

Phew. Ok, I'm down 1.3 lbs today compared to yesterday. Whatever I was experiencing with the last few days of scale increases has certainly reversed. I'm going to again drink a lot of water and tea today to keep flushing.

I got outside at 7 am before it got hot and stacked some wood.  Exercise!

Lots of sitting today, since I went to a birthday party and then drove 4 hours, the first leg of my trip. Tomorrow I'll stop more.

It's supposed to be pretty wet the next few days so I won't be going out much other than to the library on Monday and to go see my friend Phyllis in rehab. Wednesday will be grocery shopping day for what little I plan to buy. My weight is up just slightly this morning which is weird since I barely ate anything yesterday but I know it fluctuates so it is what it is. It's only about 4 oz. up. Hoping to have a good weigh in tomorrow.

Its going to be hot and very humid for a few days. No working outside!

I've had enough of this nagging ache in the molar. I'm calling my dentist Monday to discuss options.

Good luck with the tooth, Teri!

I tossed my blood pressure reading machine today. Perhaps I should have tried to get it fixed, but every time I tried to take my blood pressure it said "Error" and it is several years old, so bye bye. I'll have to get a new one as I need a weeks' worth of readings to take to physical.

Margaret, are you sure it didn't just need a new battery (if you had the cuff style)? Mine does that if the battery is dying on it.

I stayed within 0.2 from what I weighed last Sunday (249.2 today), so guess I did ok for the most part. I had hoped to be a good bit lower, not up 0.2, but it is what it is. I'll see how it goes by next Sunday. How did ya'll end up for the week?

It was a plug in version, and really it said Error Cuff, but I just bought a new cuff for it. I may have lost my patience unreasonably, but it's gone now.

Oh, I haven't seen the plug in style. Mine works on batteries.

My weight is up this morning thanks to smoked sausage for supper last night. Too much sodium between that and a few peanut butter and saltine crackers. Since that was all I ate yesterday I didn't think it'd affect my weight but looks like it did so I'll have to drink plenty of water today and try to flush out the excess sodium.

I wish I had brought my scale along to monitor if my weight starts creeping up. Traveling makes it hard to eat well. Yesterday I went to  big lots and got Diet Coke and Cheerios and cashews so I can eat in my room instead lots of fast food. So yesterday I had lunch planned at a restaurant, and I had shrimp and grits with a side of sweet potato fries. Yum. I'm avoiding sugar and hopefully that will mean I don't gain. So I just had some Cheerios (I eat them dry, like popcorn) as a snack in the evening since I didn't need a full meal.

i had so much scheduled for the last few days and a lot of it was driving, or playing Scrabble, or being at church, which are all sitting things, so I looked for a place I can take a good walk today. I found a place by the lake that has expanded the walking trail since I lived here. It is all in the shade, and is now a two mile loop instead of .5 miles, so I will take along my folding stool just in case.
