Patrice sent me a cute fun fact postcard about the origin of candy apples. A candy store owner in Newark, NJ started making them and they sold for a nickel each. Thank you, Patrice. |

Thanks to Patrice for the fact card about sundaes. The drug store owners were creative to make sundaes when they couldn't sell drinking soda water on Sundays. Thanks for helping me learn something new today :-) |

Thanks to Amy for the Illinois, Land of Lincoln pc. She remembered I was born and raised there. Lincoln's homesite that she visited is where our 8th grade overnight history class trips went every year. |

My apologies. I'm terribly behind in my thank you's. So before I send out my August cards.. Thank you to Jeanne for the Myrtle Beach card. It looks like a beautiful place to vacation. We usually stay at a shore town on the beach too. Rebecca for the Beaufort, North Carolina card. I love the sparkly picture. It would be fun to see those wild horses. Cyn for the Monmouth Cave National Park card. It looks like somewhere the hubby and I would like to go hiking. We'd probably brave the caves....probably. :) Nancy & Henry for the Natural Bridge Caverns card. It brings back memories of Howes Caverns in NY and the night we stayed in the hotel there and were the only people on the whole mountain. Amy for the Indiana Dunes butterfly card. I've never been to the Great Lakes, though I did get to see one as we drove by lol. Rebecca for the advice from the night sky. All good things to keep in mind. |

Thanks to Rebecca for the Fort Macon postcard, which showed up today looking a bit bruised. It was postmarked 2 July, so I'm guessing it got held up by the PO closure/slowdown due to Hurricane Beryl, and then possibly sat in backlog for a while... |
