I think I'm the only one in the world who can't stand Junie B. Jones. She uses bad grammer and gets away w/ lots of misbehavior. My son didn't care much for her books either. I do hear little girls really like it, though.

My Daughter seems to really have enjoyed this book. She did not put it down until it was finished! I would recommend this book for girls ages 7 and up.

Junie B. Jones is very funny and I found myself laughing frequently as I read it. However, I was uncomfortable reading it to my daughter because there were so many aspects that I do not want her imitating. The bad grammar was the least worrisome. Junie B. also has a pretty bad potty mouth (in my opinion anyway) and the kids are mean to each other regularly. They call each other names and say they hate each other. When I read it to my daughter, I corrected the grammar and censored the bad language but even then, Junie B. is no role model.
This was the first chapter book I read to my 1st grade class (10 short chapters, it works), but I don't think I'd do it again. Too much that I don't want the kids to imitate, including bad grammar (other teachers as well as I change what Junie says during read aloud).
This is a fun early chapter book with Junie B. as the main character and her fear of kindergarten and going to school on a stupid smelly bus. And after finding a friend to go to school with on the bus her fears disappear. Junie is a nutty character with her own form of the English language. She is only 5 so her grammar is interesting. This is a beginning chapter book or emergent reader for kindergarten through 2nd grade children to be read to or read by themselves.

This story made me chuckle all the way through it, Junie is one of the most out spoken little girls Ive met and the things that just pop out of her mouth are adorable! And in a five year old way, what she says is nothing but the truth. GREAT book for first readers and/or for adults to read out loud to children. The illustrations do nothing but help add to the pleasure of the book! Any young-at-heart person has to love this book!
