This is the second book with Paul Fischer as a lead character. Book has enough background and/or reminder information that it could be read without reading the first Paul Fischer book (Katie's Will). It has enough suspense and action that it's difficult to put down but not so much that it gets confusing. I've read all three of the author's Paul Fischer books and do hope he comes out with another very soon! Good reading.
