It is always a good sign when the book you're reading makes you laugh out loud. "Can You Keep a Secret" definitely had me laughing out loud in more than a few places. However, it also had me groaning about the stupidity of the main character a few times as well.
Overall, I liked the story. There's something funny about spilling your guts and all the little life secrets you have to a total stranger on the plane. Until that is, that stranger happens to be the CEO of your company. Such is the story of Emma and Jack.
While the book is more than a little predictable, I still had fun. It made me laugh more times that any other book I've read this year (and that's something).
If you need a light-hearted book that you can read to brighten your day (or a plane ride of your own), then definitely check out "Can You Keep a Secret". If nothing else, it will help you keep your secrets in tact.

I loved this book because all of the characters in it seemed so human, and they were very easy to relate to. This book definitely has some laugh-out-loud moments, along with some, "Hey, I know how she feels" moments. Definitely a good read.

I liked this book better than her shopaholic books. This character was more endearing and likeable. She basically thinks she is going to die in a plane crash and starts spilling her guts to a stranger. The stranger turns out to be her new boss, and really hot. He now knows all her secrets and really likes her because of it. She knows a secret of his too. Boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in bed or love , boy or girl betray or misunderstand the other. Then boy and girl work it all out.

Written with dry wit and humor, Can You Keep A Secret? is engaging in a light, satisfactory manner. Other reviewers add that the belief in reality must be suspended while undertaking the reading of this particular novel. Once that has happened, however, it is fanciful to suppose that a story like this could happen to someone, and the author spins that fancy into a lovely, sweet romance. Kinsella creates a dashing, charming and highly successful CEO that strives to capture our hearts as well as he has captured Emma's.
The novel is not without its faults - the "necessary drama" that must always unravel itself in such a novel of course occurs, taking its shape in the spilling of secrets and sudden mistrust. For some, it may create a bit of an unsatisfactory ending (though the story, of course, ends happily). Yet the ride (both literal and figurative) is special and brings to the uneventful Emma's life much excitement.

I had never heard of Sophie Kinsella before a friend gave me this book - it was awesome! If you need a good dose of "can you even believe that happened?" humor this is the book you're looking for! I've now read all Sophie's books and wish that Emma would come back to life in a series. Please......, Sophie???

I'm usually involved with reading mysteries, but diverged to this book via forum reviews. It was okay; light reading. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend spending your time reading it, with the kazillion other books to choose from in the world!
My favorite book so far by Sophie Kinsella. Was laughing out loud while reading it. I couldn't put it down the whole time

I was actually quite surprised to learn that there was a Sophie Kinsella book that I had not read. Her last book Remember Me? was one of my favorites from last year. This book is older, probably released around the same time as the first Shopaholic books. This novel is a standalone and follows in true Kinsella form for being light, fun, and totally entertaining. No deep plot, no deep philosophical discussion, or not even too many big words. Lets just be honest, there isnt going to be a plague on anyones house in this story.
Basic plot premise is life seen through the eyes of endearingly optimistic Emma Corrigan a twenty something junior marketing executive at Panther Corporation. In an attempt to boost her career she volunteers to substitute for her boss at a meeting with clients in Glasgow. After she is unsuccessful at winning them over, she flies back praying that she will have a job when she returns. Already a highly nervous flier, Emma completely loses it when her flight from Glasgow to London encounters severe turbulence. Thinking the end is near, she spills every secret she has ever had to the stranger next to her. How she lost her virginity, what she really thinks of her boyfriend, the petty (but hilarious) stunts she pulls on co-workers, the way she killed her parents' goldfish while they were on vacation and replaced it without their knowledge, her deepest thoughts on g-strings, her contemptible sow of a cousin Kerry, Charles Dickens, and more. When the plane miraculously lands, Emma is thankful she will never again see this man who knows every little secret of her life. Or so she thinks. (Insert evil laugh) Emma returns to her job to find that the stranger she blabbed to is none other than the CEO of Panther Corporation, Jack Harper who just so happens to be visiting from America. (Come and knock on our door)
Lets just say hilarity ensues and there is of course, a happy ending. Emma is very reminiscent of Kinsella's other heroine, the shopaholic Becky Bloomwood. A definite honorable mention goes to my favorite character in the story, Emmas roommate Jemima. Jemima is kind of like the UK version of the ghetto fabulous girl from the hood who will fake a pregnancy or chuck a brick through a guy's car window for cheating on her. Though instead of velour tracksuits and huge hoop earrings, Jemima wears Prada mules, pearls, and cashmere cardigans. Every scene with Jemima had me in internal giggles at her sage thoughts on men, jewels, and her tried and true methods of "getting the ring on your finger".
Can You Keep a Secret? definitely keeps the tried and true theme of good girl who makes horrible decisions but learns a big lesson and still ends up with the guy, but for chick-lit that is pretty much a hat trick. I definitely recommend for filler between heavier subject matter due to it's fast paced timing and rapid fire resolutions. All in all not a bad little story and yes, I was entertained.

This book was excellent! It was the first book I've ever read that actually made me laugh out loud! It made me feel so much for the main character-Emma-that I couldn't put it down! I laughed, felt anger, felt sad. The writing is amazing! This is the first book I've read by this author and so now I will be checking out more of her novels. I very highly reccommend this book to anyone!

This book started with a great premise - what if you tell a stranger all your secrets, only to discover he's the owner of the company you work for - and just kept getting better as the situation evolved. The charachters are great, heart-warming and felt like real people. For people who thought the Shopaholic stories were "meh" because of the obsession on shopping, don't overlook this book by Sophie Kinsella.

Loved this book! Read in one afternoon the day it arrived. Laughed out loud several times, cried too. Really could identify with the 'open mouth, insert foot' experiences of the main character Emma.
I normally don't care for books written in first person but this is highly recommended.

I love this author and will ready anything she writes (and have). This was written in the same style as her popular Shopaholic books...funny, charming and sweet.

This book has its moments and I finished it one day however it falls flat for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the Shopaholic series, but I can't say the same for this book. The heroine is quite naive and sweet, almost annoyingly so, but she's not as endearingly spunky as Becky Bloomwood. Having read several books from the same author, I can see that she has certain stock characters she uses over again such as the smarter roommate who is also the best friend, the parents who fret over their daughter's career/love life, the bitchy acquaintances, etc. In fact, the plot of this book is similar to the Shopholic books and therefore somewhat predictable
(SPOILER) The two main characters, Emma and Jack, are not well developed at all. They have only two dates, both of which don't go well, and they supposedly fall head over heels in love with each other! It was too much to accept. It wasn't believable especially given that Jack barely reveals anything about himself to Emma. He has a secret and when he finally reveals his secret it's really nothing much at all - quite underwhelming in fact, hardly anything that would necessitate all the secret phone calls and other oddities in his behavior.

This books has some great laugh out loud moments and is a fun read. I like the characters personality and I enjoyed this book much more than Remember Me?. The only thing I had to adjust to were a few terms as the book is written in Europe english vs. US english. (Like asking a person "to get on" isn't a term I'd heard before...)

Surprisingly, I could not put this book down. It was a fun and hilarious read. Although, I did not agree with all of the main characters actions and values; the way she was portrayed made it feel like I had known her a long time and there were moments when I felt quite empathetic toward this fictional character. I appreciated how real the character seemed. It was a great book, that I recommend!

This book was so cute and funny. There were so many times that I would be laughing out loud. My fiance kept looking at me funny because I was laughing, then he started inquiring about the book. He even wanted to know what was happening! Very funny story.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book. It is by an English author and set in London so some of the writing (ie English style) was difficult at first. However, after those few first chapters, I was hooked! What a great read! So much fun and the author really captured what life of a young, single working girl is like. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Couldn't put it down.

I liked this book, and I may read it again some day. The main character, Emma, is very likable but I didn't care for how the romance between Jack and Emma played out. I think it could have been written much better. It was just a little bit too predictable if you ask me. The first few pages are funny when she spills all of her secrets to a mysterious stranger on the plane, but after that the book lets you down, and it's not nearly as funny as you could have hoped. Still, I consider this much better than the Shopaholic series.

This was a great quick read! I laughed out loud for pages at a time (and that's not something I usually do), and I had trouble putting it down to go to sleep. At times the plot seemed predictable, yet it kept me on my toes. There were a few points that seemed familiar, somehow, as though I had read it before (though I'm quite sure I haven't), which may contribute to part of the appeal in Kinsella's writing style. With such well-developed characters, and follow-up on details in the story line, her characters and stories are very real and easy to connect with. I will read more by this author.

This novel is full of the tiny, little secrets of life that when brought into the light can add the simplest and freshest sort of humor. You can't help but chuckle at the very private thoughts that come bubbling from Emma and how her story unravels with irony, embarrassment, humor, hope, despair, love, humiliation, strength, wittiness, and finally, forgiveness and acceptance. You will definitely enjoy, and will probably even find parts that you can relate to yourself. I encourage you to read on and have yet to be disappointed by Kinsella.

I've loved all Kinsella's books but this one may be my favorite. I loved the way she spilled her guts in the first few pages of the book and it just comes back to bite her all the way through. I couldn't put it down, I wanted to see how another secret would be exposed. I was slightly let down by the ending but all-in-all a great book and a terrific author! I can't wait for her next book to come out.
A wonderfully funny English novel!
This was an excellant book, I'm going to get her shopaholic books.
chick-lit from one of the best. funny and romatic.
I have read a few other books by Sophie Kinsella and I must say this was not my favorite- there is a fine line between wit and slapstick humor and this book crosses the line on a few occasions. The heroine is difficult to root for; it's hard to understand why a hugely successful, handsome businessman would go for such a nervous Nellie with so many hangups. Also I found some of the scenes were very contrived in an attempt to make the book funny- you find yourself saying, "oh come on, that would never happen." I liked "The Undomestic Goddess" a lot more, it's got a much gentler, more realistic tone to it- and it's mildly witty without going overboard on the stupid situations. I can only give this book 2-3 stars- others are much better.
Chick Lit, no question, but with an English twist. Read entire book on a four hour bus ride.
Meet Emma Corrigan, a young woman with a huge heart, an irrepressible spirit, and a few little secrets:
Secrets from her mother:
I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom with Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben-Hur.
Sammy the goldfish in my parents kitchen is not the same goldfish that Mum gave me to look after when she and Dad were in Egypt.
Secrets from her boyfriend:
I weigh one hundred and twenty-eight pounds. Not one eighteen, like Connor thinks.
Ive always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken.
From her colleagues:
When Artemis really annoys me, I feed her plant orange juice. (Which is pretty much every day.) It was me who jammed the copier that time. In fact, all the times.
Secrets she wouldnt share with anyone in the world:
My G-string is hurting me.
I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is.
Until she spills them all to a handsome stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger.
But come Monday morning, Emmas office is abuzz about the arrival of Jack Harper, the companys elusive CEO. Suddenly Emma is face-to-face with the stranger from
the plane, a man who knows every single humiliating detail about her. Things couldnt possibly get worseUntil they do.

I couldn't put this book down. I love the character of Emma, even if I felt like yelling at her some of the time because of the careless things she does!! Interesting story; another great one from Kinsella.
Great book. I couldn't put it down. You laugh, you cry, it is great.

Another madcap adventure from Sophie Kinsella. This one's about a London office worker who spills her deepest secrets to a stranger on a plane during a very turbulent flight, then meets him again at work!
Engaging and clever. A very quick read.
Very cute story. A great read for a day at the beach or lazy weekend. I read this story in two nights. Fun, fast, but not overly predictable. I enjoyed this story very munch.
This was the first time I read Sophie Kinsella and I enjoyed it. It was definitly light reading but very enjoyable. I really liked Emma and Jack and it was a very cute and entertaining story.
I loved this laugh out loud novel. I don't "get" alot of the European slang, but besides that this book is great. It is a easy read when you are looking for a light read that is full of humor.
A fun example of chick-lit. When I'm not reading heady classics a little brain candy can be relaxing.
One of my favorite books! Sophie Kinsella has a great style of writing and adds great humor to her characters! I would love to see this made into a movie.
Classic Girl meets Boy. Enjoyed it a lot.
My first book by this author. Typical chick lit: cute and endearing characters, easy read.
Sophie Kinsella is an amazing story-writer. She has an extraordinary ability to make the reader identify with Emma, our beloved main character. The secrets Emma reveals reflect in many ways the true personal thoughts of many women and you find yourself routing for her the entire way through. The descriptions of emotions and actions reflect reality while adding the wow factor one looks for in a true British humor novel. A metropolitan woman's love story with a twist, a definite must read.
Fun, Clever, Entertaining--a great book to take on vacation!
So much fun! I can imagine this as a fun chick-flick movie!
My first Sophia Kinsella read. Very cute and engaging. I look forward to reading more.
Good story. Not entirely plausible but who cares. Sophie Kinsella is solid!
ONE OF MY FAVORITES! This book is so funny! I have never read abook that made me Laugh out loud for real! I had people looking at me like I was CRAZY! Read this book you will not be sorry! I done got 2 other people reading it! and they LOVE it so far
Cute, funny read.
I absolutely loved this book! It so reminded me of Bridget Jones Diary. Emma is terrified of flying and when the plane hits massive turbulence, she thinks she's going to die and starts blabbing all her secrets to the guy in the seat next to her. And I do mean everything. Turns out he's Jack Harper, the guy who owns the company she works for. For everyone he meets, a little bell goes off, and he uses what Emma told him in a clever way which is just hysterical. Poor Emma she just can't win, she is beyond mortified until the unthinkable happens, Jack asks her out.
This is just a rollicking good time, that truly had me laughing out loud. I'm sure the people driving in the cars next to me, must have thought I was nuts. I honestly don't think I would have gotten the same thing out of this book if I read it myself. The accents and the way the story was read were just priceless.
I've never picked up Sophie Kinsella's books before because chick lit really isn't my thing. I'm so not into the whole shopping thing so the shopaholic series is probably out, but her other books have just been added to my TBR. I can't wait to see if I can find them on audiobook.

light, humorous reading. enjoy the characters, don't take it too seriously and you won't want to put it down. Ever think that you were hiding a whole lot of yourself, does anyone realize and would they still like you if you were real. another two generation recommended.
A great book for all us "average" women out there.
Great book!
This is one of the best books I've read in a LONG time! Had me laughing out loud! LOVED IT!!!!
Liked it a lot, just like all the Sophie Kinsella and Madeline Wickham books.
This book is exactly what it looks like - pure, unadulterated chick lit. If that's what you're looking for, I highly recommend it. Sophie Kinsella's books are always entertaining.
A very nice, fluffy addition to the pink "chick lit" from England. Well written.
Fun read!
Hilariously funny. A must read.
I dont normally read romances and picked this book up on a whim. From the very first page I was sucked in and couldnt stop reading, ended up neglecting the house work to live in the world of this book for the day. I actually cried at one point (something I havent done with a book in a long time) and caught my self smiling quite a bit. I highly reccomend this book for any normal "nothing-special girl" to quote the author. I really enjoyed this book!
Clever, fun, Chick-lit...
Great read if you enjoy the Sophie Kinsella books.
Very entertaining. As well written as her "Shopoholic" series. I will read anything written by her.
This is a cute and fast read.
If you liked all of Sophie Kinsella's Books, especially The Undomestic Goddess then you are sure to like this one! I think its like Marian Keyes' novels but better!

Another great Sophie Kinsella book. Her books are so much fun to read and this was no exception.
This is the first of her books I read and I loved it and could not put it down until I finished. I plan to read all her books now.
LOVED THIS SOPHIE KINSELLA BOOK!!!!
I've read the Shopaholic series and liked this one just as much.
I felt like Emma was similar to the main character of the Shopaholic series, Becky. The author writes lots of humorous inner dialogue for her main characters which makes them very relatable.
If you're looking for a light, feel good read this is great.

Didn't care about the characters, the story is improbable.
I doubt I ever pick up another book by Kinsella.
I doubt I ever pick up another book by Kinsella.
I loved this book. How hilarious to be on a plane with your boss unbeknown to yourself and talk about your crap job, and how you lied to get it. Of course when she gets back to work hilarity ensues when she discovers he's the new owner of her company. It's a fun, fun read. It will keep you up until you finish the whole thing. Who doesn't love a great, fun book??
I absolutely adore Sophie Kinsella books, and this one did not disappoint! It is a great fun read, and I really enjoyed the characters in it. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just say read it, you won't be sorry you did!
An excellent read- had me laughing out loud quite frequently.
Good book, loads of fun to read.
Funny situations - a laugh-out-loud book - wanted to keep following Emma's adventures & couldn't put it down!
Such a funny book.
I enjoyed reading this. It was funny, yet had a true to life spin on it.
Heroine tells the story of her evolution and gradual self acceptance thru funny mistaken identity situation.
Sophie Kinsella is excellent as usual.
very good book
I read this straight through without hardly putting it down. Fun to read!
Very funny, I wanted to read it non-stop. It was a hard one to put down.
loved it!
This is the first Kinsella book I read, and it caused me to seek out all of her other books. The heroine is hysterically funny. Great book!
very humorous book by famed "Shopaholic" author. Any woman can identify with Emma in this book!
Hilarious!
So-so romance. The main character is considerably less self-indulgent than the Shopaholic, but there's really nothing to set this story apart from the other British chick-lit offerings.
This is a very funny book. Main character's ditziness is a bit much to take sometimes, but definitely worth the read.
Charmingly funny.
This book was a great, quick summer read by the pool. The writing is excellent and the humor doesn't seem forced. GREAT choice if you're looking for somelight summer reading.
Very fun and well written. I laughed out loud.
A good read.
Fun beach read. Emma Corrigan reminds me of a Bridget Jones character.
I absolutely loved this one! Funny & a very quick read. Enjoy!
Great book! Light easy read.
As usual, a hilarious and fast-paced read!
Laugh out loud funny!
a very quick read. just as good as kinsella's shopaholic series. fun!
I loveed this book. I stayed up til 1am last night reading it. I finally had to put it down to get some sleep.
Perfect airplane reading - Emma is an adorable character!
Another great one by Sophie Kinsella. I read it in a day!
Pretty funny, quick read.
A fun, light reading book... great book to kick back with!
Good fun read....when Emma spills all her dirty little secrets (and I mean all) to a stranger when she thinks the end is near on a bumpy plane ride - she has no idea how those words will come back to haunt her. If you liked Bridget Jones or any of the Shopaholic books - you'll enjoy this one.
Sophie Kinsella is awesome! Love this book, very cute!
An amazing Book!And so funny!
Meet Emma Corrigan, a young woman with a huge heart, an irrepressible spirit, and a few secrets..

this is a great read very funny.
I'm addicted to the "Shopaholic" books, and while this one isn't quite up to that standard, I have to say a really, really liked it. It's a quick read and is very enjoyable. If you like other Sophie Kinsella books, you'll enjoy this one too.
This book is hilarious. Loved it.
I love this book. Great fast read. Will have you laughing out loud!!
This is one of the best books I've read by Sophie. I like it because it's very different from her other books. It's one of the funniest (appropriate) books i've ever read.
Great book! A must read for any Kinsella fan!
Author has a great sense of humor, quite a few LOL moments. Loved this book!
I enjoyed the book very much it was funny and easy to get through.
As with all of her books this one was absolutely great!! I would start with this one if you have never read one of hers. Absolutely delightful and very funny!!!!

Read this book in a few hours!!
I absolutely loved this book. I have to say it's now one of my favorites. It's funny, and makes you want to read it in one day!
Had a blast reading this book! There is abit of Emma in all of us and to have all your secrets shared with just about everyone would change your life. Very funny, great paced storyline and a happy ending!
I rushed out to buy this because it was hers and when I read the cover it sounded fantastic, but it was a little diappointing. Just didn't have the same zap that her others do.
Very entertaining story...
Excellent read! I couldn't put it down--stayed up till 1:00am on a weekday reading it. Very Sex & the City or Devil Wears Prada kind of feel.
A light read. Laugh-out-loud funny in spots. Entertaining!
Very cute book...great for a light read. =)
Good book. Had me laughing out loud. I finished it in 2 days as with most of Sophie Kinsella books.
I liked this book, is definately geared towards the younger generation but it's entertaining

It was an excellent read on a long plane ride.
Really enjoyed this. Chick lit with heart!
Fun Read!
Funny, with a great ending. Loved it!
Very cute and quirky...a nice easy read. The main character had me giggling throughout the whole book, especially when she would think or blurt out something I've thought myself a million times.
Great quick read!
Hilarious quick read; a guilty pleasure.
FROM THE PUBLISHER
With the same wicked humor, buoyant charm, and optimism that have made her Shopaholic novels beloved international bestsellers, Sophie Kinsella delivers a hilarious new novel and an unforgettable new character.
Sammy the goldfish in my parents' kitchen is not the same goldfish that Mum gave me to look after when she and Dad were in Egypt.
Secrets from her boyfriend:
I weigh one hundred and twenty-eight pounds. Not one eighteen, like Connor thinks.
I've always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken.
From her colleagues:
When Artemis really annoys me, I feed her plant orange juice. (Which is pretty much every day.) It was me who jammed the copier that time. In fact, all the times.
Secrets she wouldn't share with anyone in the world:
My G-string is hurting me.
I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even what it is.
Until she spills them all to a handsome stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger.
But come Monday morning, Emma's office is abuzz about the arrival of Jack Harper, the company's elusive CEO. Suddenly Emma is face-to-face with the stranger from the plane, a man who knows every single humiliating detail about her. Things couldn't possibly get worse--Until they do.
ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! We all have our secrets. What would we do if everyone found them out???

Really enjoyed this book, was up til 1:30 am reading because I couldn't put it down! It's fun and the main character, Emma, is quite likeable. The book could do without the numerous sentences starting with, "Er," but that's just the writer's style.
Picked this up after reading Confessions of a Shopaholic and I'm glad that I did. Very enjoyable
Emma spills her secrets to a stranger on a place during turbulence, only to have him turn up at her office as the owner of the company.
I really enjoyed the Shopaholic books and this was just as good. Lighthearted and funny, but also touching.
I really enjoyed the Shopaholic books and this was just as good. Lighthearted and funny, but also touching.
I enjoyed reading this book
Such a guilty pleasure
In the style of Shopaholic, Sophie Kinsella introduces you to another hilarious group of people you'll come to love by the end of the book. This is not one of the Shopaholic series. Hopefully we'll see more of Emma though!
Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite authors. Her writing feels completely real. Her "heronies" are always entertaining. Emma's life was like a fairy tale.. very entertaining.
Really funny!
VERY GOOD!
Just loved it! A fun fast read.
My favorite Kinsella book. Laugh out loud funny!!
Much more likable heroine than in the shopaholic books. I really enjoyed this book.
REALLY CUTE. I liked it better than the shopoholics.
Liked it a lot. Along the same lines as 'The Undomestic Goddess'.
I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and witty. Very light and relaxing read.
another light, fun read that I couldn't put down!
This is a very cute and funny book. If you order my copy it is the british edition so the cover is different and there might be more british slang.
Great quick read. Good beach book. Couldn't put it down. Love this author. I think I've read everything of hers. This isn't my favorite, but it's definately in the the top ten...
Funny, quick read.
Sophie Kinsella has done it again! She writes such wonderful, fun, and lighthearted reads. It is a nice break from reality.
Chick book that I really enjoyed.
Light and fun with likeable characters.
Sophie Kinsella is the queen of chick lit! This is a good one!
Very light but funny book. I'm usually not into chick lit but this book made me laugh out loud more than once.
Lots of fun and a very lovable protagonist.
good light read
I thought this book was a good, funny read.
Totally fun, light read. It's funny and romantic, and I hate romantic comedies, but I like this book.
good read, enjoyed this book
I loved this book! One of my faves!!!!
Read all about a new character. Emma Corrigan is a young woman with a huge heart, a irrepressible spirit and a few little secrets....
Be careful who you tell secrets to!
I'm normally not a fan of Sophie Knsella's characters. This one started out in much the same way, very flighty. But it very quickly picked up and turned into a fabulous story.
not bad. sort of like Bridget Jones.
It would be hard to imagine anyone other than Gray giving voice to Emma Corrigan, the heroine of Kinsella's hilarious new confection (after Shopaholic Ties the Knot). With her flirty British accent, Gray perfectly delivers the hysterical monologues that Emma, a marketing assistant, directs towards the handsome man sitting next to her on a turbulent flight between Glasgow and London. Emma spills intimate details about her G-string, G-spot, the fact that she's never been in love and much more. But to Emma's chagrin, the handsome man on the plane turns out to be Jack Harper, CEO of her company. Emma hopes Jack will forget all about her, but he seems bent on getting to know her, first forcing her to admit she deserves better than her boring boyfriend Conor, then convincing her that he is a better choice. Although he never seems to share his own secrets, Emma can't help falling in love with Jack and his glamorous lifestyle. But then the unthinkable happensJack reveals Emma's secrets on national television in front of her family, friends and co-workers. What happens next? That's a secret. What's not is that this fast-paced, fluffy audiobook goes down as easily as cotton candy and is twice as sweet.
A very light read, characters are lovable, but the end was hurried.
Kinsella is always fun, witty and a good read. "Secret" is no exception.
Honesty has never been so funny! I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
It was a fun read but not really a laugh out loud kind of funny.
I really enjoyed this book. It is definetly on par with the Shopoholic series books.
LOL funny!!! I will definitely be reading more Sophie Kinsella books.
Very funny! Nice to read something by Kinsella other than the Shopaholics (although I love those too)
Bridget Jonesish, actually made me LOL a few times!
Great summer read.
Very good!
Good book...an easy read, but very enjoyable.
A perfect book for the beach or summer vacation
great beach reading
A quick read on a hot afternoon.
Funny. If you enjoy any of the Shopaholic series, you will love this!
If you work in an office with annoying co-workers, have ever blurted out something you didn't mean to, or confided a secret in someone, and had it come around to bite you... you will love this laugh out loud book! A quick, funny read!
A funny, light read, perfect for the beach!
This is a really funny, enjoyable romance.
This is one of her cuter books. Read this one then try "Shopaholic Ties the Knot" then "Shopaholic and Sister". Although, make sure you read the "Confessions of a Shopaholic" first. I hope this helps you read them in sequence. Anyways, their all great no matter which you pick first!
Delightfully entertaining book!
Sophie Kinsella write a great book. This is a funny book that will keep you intersted.
Laugh out loud story by the author of the Shopahholic books. I hope there is a second installment.
Really entertaining book. Such an easy read; quick and enjoyable.
This is one of my favorite books by Sophie Kinsella.
What a hoot!
Very cute book, read the whole thing in one day. Great light vacation reading.
On a traumatic plane ride Emma spills all of her secrets to a handsome stranger. Little did she know this stranger was the elusive head of the company she works for. Parts of this book were laugh-out-loud hilarious and the hero will keep you guessing until the very end.
A fun and easy read!
Very funny, witty - laugh out loud. Emma is a great heroine! Really enjoyed this book.
I thought this was cute and a fun read. Now I'm on to the Shopaholics!!!
An enjoyable book...nice light reading.
Cute and funny whimisical story, strange situations, and little surprises are around every corner. Fun read with a romantic flaire
I loved this book. It was funny and very easy to read.
A cute Kinsela book- perfect beach read!
This was a fun, quick read.
Fun, easy reading!
What a fun chick lit book. And it is not completely the predictable formula. This main character sort of cares about her job, doesn't overspend, is trying to make good on her debts. Sophie Kinsella just gets better with each book.
best book I have read all year. Laugh out loud funny, slightly predictable, but a fun fluffy read :)
Very quick easy chick-book. I read it in three days... just flew right through it. Very cute.
The author of the Shopaholic trilogy offers up a delightful new novel, filled with her trademark wit and humor. When her plane en route from Glasgow to London experiences horrible turbulence, Emma Corrigan is convinced she is going to die. She babbles all of her most intimate thoughts and secrets to the handsome American man sitting next to her. But the plane lands safely, and Emma bids him an awkward good-bye. When she enters the office on Monday and learns the CEO of the company, Jack Harper, is in for a visit, Emma is horrified to learn Jack is actually the man in whom she confided on the flight. He knows everything, including that she hates her job and that she is not quite sure she loves her boyfriend. But Jack does not fire her on the spot; instead, he quietly replaces the office coffeemaker she hates and gives her advice about her personal life, which she finds infuriating. So why can't she stop thinking about him?
So much fun to read!! Very, very funny, very enjoyable, and at the same time a real page turner; a combination hard to find in books. I couldn't put it down, now I know why my daughter loves Sophie Kinsela books. :)
This was so funny!! I couldn't put it down.
very funny!! she spills everything!!
Kinsella is not my cup of tea - nor my choice in authors, but to some it's very funny and romantic.
I liked it, it was the first book I read by the author. I think that it would make a good movie.
What a FUN read! This is my new Favorite Sophie K Book ~ Michelle
a laugh-out-loud book...I read it in one day because I really wanted to know what would happen to Emma...a great, fun read. -Mirah W.
Great Story! She is a great beach-read author!! A hit every time!
I loved this book!
If you like laughing out loud, pick up this pink book. Heroine Emma Corrigan is going to be your new best friend!...This book is like a quilty pleasure to devour! I loved it!
This book is by the same author that wrote the wonderful "Shopaholic" series. Here she writes about a different character, Emma Corrigan.
An easy and breezy but FUN read! I couldn't put it down and couldn't wait to see how it turned out! Cute story.
very cute
I have recommended this book so often, it is a great read, you will laugh out loud!
Very funny book. Easy read. Really enjoyed it!
nice easy read. cute story, always funny
Very enjoyable...now I want to read Kinsella's other books!
Another great chick lit book by Sophie Kinsella. If you liked Shopaholic, you'll like this book too. Fun to read, as always. It's a great beach book and it's a very fast, easy read.
Fun read.
Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite authors, she's a lot of fun!
Very cute novel by one of my fav. authors who has also written Shopaholic series. Fast and fun read.
Great book as all Sophie's book are. funny and witty!
This book is entertaining from page 1. Fast read. You think you know what will happen, but it changes up on you. Of course, it's for the best. I really liked the main character. She reminds me of Becky from this author's Shopaholic series, but she's smarter and not as annoying. I'd like to see this turned into a movie.
Can You Keep a Secret is a fun, quick read. While on a turbulent flight, Emma confides all her deepest secrets to the handsome stranger in the next seat. She thinks she'll never see the stranger again. That's until she shows up to work on Monday only to discover he owns the company! Embarrassment, confusion and romance all follow.
Sophie Kinsella's main character (in this and other books I've attempted to read) are too young (for my taste) and they don't know when to shut up.
LOVE LOVE LOVED this book! Really funny!
Love, love, love, love, love!!! I can't say enough good things about it. This has to be my favorite Sophie Kinsella book, and it definitely ranks in my top three favorite books of all time.
Can you tell I love it!!
Can you tell I love it!!
I was really disappointed with this book after all the rave reviews it has received. Not really that funny, the romance was weak, and the main character was annoying. There are much better books out there, this is a waste of time and paper.
I really enjoyed it...a fun, light read.
This is my favorite book! It's so fun and light. I couldn't put it down! Emma is hands-down my favorite Kinsella character.
well, it's kind of girlie for me. but i'm sure a lot of women would like it. more of a teen book i think.
Very funny and rings true.
Cute, funny read.
Hardcover copy of this book. Great read!
I've loved all her books. I love paperbackswap.com because it helps me get books I can't afford or find.
Love, love, love this book!!!!!
'Kinsella's timing is so perfect, her instincts so spot-on, that's it's easy to...devour the book like the guilty pleasure it is.'- Miami Herald
Fun read. Reminds me of another romance I read a few years ago. The title of that one has escaped me.
I absolutely LOVED this! It was highly entertaining and I really found myself laughing out loud during quite a few moments in this book. People around me kept asking what I was reading. LOL. Definitely a must read for Kinsella fans. I really hope she develops this character more and has more adventures in store for her.
Good read. Funny, interesting and you have to keep reading to see what happens next. Enjoy it.
Absolutely loved this book, great characters, moves fast.
This book was so funny. It was the first book I laughed out loud too!

Started reading this, the premise looked interesting....stopped at about page 8. Absolute drivel! I couldn't force myself to read another word; not when there are so many books worth reading out there, why waste the time!
Emma is like every girl in the world. She has a few little secrets.

Funny book by Kinsella again... just as humerous as the shopaholic movies!
I usually read romance books with people who have kids so this book really didnt interest me.
