How modern can you get - a veteran of WWI wounded in spirit and body finds healing with the aid of some outstanding characters. Gene Stratton-Porter certainly wrote from a contemporary heart, drawing from a wide natural history knowledge.

Set in 1920's California, this last novel written by Porter is about the spiritual and physical healing a wounded WWI vet finds tending bees. A charming love story that grabs the heart with Porter's usual wisdom.
