This is the 1st book in the Atticus Kodiak series ... a very good read ... interesting plot development, multi-layered characters, etc. Underlying premise (abortion rights) may not be for everyone, so read some reviews and synopses before you jump into this one.

I'd only read some of Rucka's comics before, but I enjoyed his writing there. Making a jump from comics to novels, or vice versa isn't easy, but he navigates it with aplomb. Keeper was a real page turner and I look forward to reading the further adventures of Atticus Kodiak.
