Three holiday romances. I really enjoyed the Curtis Ann Matlock story.

The first story was the best, and overall a nice Christmastime read. The book also includes 3 recipes.

Once Upon A Christmas by Curtiss Ann Matlock: Rancher Monroe Locket didn't want the responsibility of a widowed mail-order bride, but evenhe didn't have the heart to ship Olivia Prtichett and her two precocious children back East mere days before Christmas.
A Fairytale Season by Marianne Willman: Christmas festivities were in full swing aboard the luxery steamship bound for Jamaica, yet all Ellen Shepard could think of was the moment dashing Hugh Kincade would choose to expose her as a royal imposter.
Tiding of Joy by Victoria Pade: Linnie Rhodes's heart had been shattered when town rogue Drew Dunlap left Pinewood, Colorado, all those years ago. Now he was back, happily reformed, bursting with yuletide cheer--and armed with a very tempting proposition.

This volume of three Christmas stories contains all-new stories (as of 1993).
ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS (Curtiss Ann Matlock) -- VG
Olivia Pritchett has come from North Carolina with her two sons to marry John Carter in Texas. They'd met while John was on a sheep-buying trip to Carolina, and the couple had agreed to wed. Unfortunately, Monroe Locket, his ranch partner had to bring the bad news of John's death to Olivia. She and the boys are devastated. Olivia begs him to allow them to have Christmas on the ranch before returning home. Monroe reluctantly agrees.
It is critical for Olivia to give the boys a good Christmas because, in North Carolina, they are controlled by relatives who cling to the grim life of the South after the Civil War.
A FAIRYTALE SEASON (Marianne Willman) -- 2 Stars
This story is so improbable that it isn't worth repeating. I can't believe I wasted the time to read it.
TIDINGS OF JOY ( Victoria Pade) -- 3 Stars
Drew Dunlap left Pinewood, Colorado six years ago over the objections and tears of Linnie Rhodes. Now, Drew is back, and he's bought and repaired the home he and Linnie had promised themselves they would share when they married. However, Will Larson, a banker, wants Linnie to marry him. This story just dragged along.
