What an interesting storyline. The basic plot takes place in Pleasant Valley, PA and focuses on three women brought together presumably for a party/reception at an old mansion-Warrior's Peak. Malory Price, Dana Steele, and Zoe McCourt, strangers prior to this meeting, have no clue as to what they are about to embark upon. Their hosts - Rowena and Pitte welcome them to the "party of three" and that is when they are presented with the challenge of the three keys, the purpose of which is to find them and unlock the souls of the three demi-mortal-goddesses, put into a "Sleeping Beauty-type" slumber by the evil Kane centuries ago. While discussing the task at hand, all three women are faced with a beautiful and very old portrait of the demi-mortal goddesses and coincidentally the goddesses resemble Malory, Dana and Zoe. Each girl will receive $25,000 up front to take on the challenge and, if all three keys are found, they will then each receive $1,000,000. If the first one fails, the entire task is over and they lose a year of their lives. If the first key is found, then they move onto the next, each having one full month to achieve their goal. Again, even if they are successful with finding the first key, and they do not find the second or then the third, each subsequent failure results in the end of the search with the resulting loss of time in their lives. "Key of Light" is Malory's and Flynn's story and the search for the first key. To summarize the romance point, suffice it to say that there are three very handsome men connected to the story, each getting drawn into the quest for uncovering the whereabouts of the keys through their involvement with the three "chosen" women. It was really nice knowing the story wasn't over at the end of the book. "Key of Knowledge" picks up right where this story leaves off and the reader is treated to the continuing saga of the mystery. This trilogy is Nora at her best. If you enjoy her writing technique, you will definitely become immersed in the "key trilogy" to distinguish what is real, what appears to be real and what is fantasy.

My first Nora Roberts. I have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first, but boy was I off! To my surprise, I REALLY enjoyed this book. The adventure was magical, and I had to know what was going to happen next. And I loved the witty banter between the characters! I can't wait to read Key of Knowledge.

What can I say about the Key trilogy? I loved it, so much so I bought the hard cover. If you love fantasy, gods and wizards you will love this series too.

So glad that I found this trilogy from Nora Roberts. This first book of the three totally met my expectations for a great Nora Roberts read. It had all of the character elements and intrigue to hold my interest and am gearing up to start on the second of the series. Classic read for those fans of this genre and author. Have begun on the second book with high expectations. Have tried to give this 5 stars but for some reason it put 4 with the symbol at the end. This is a 5 stars rating, for sure!

A great guilty pleasure book. This book got me hooked on the trilogy. Once i read this I HAD to read the other two RIGHT NOW! Just the right combination of romance and suspense to make a fun escapist reading adventure. A little bit naughty so I wouldn't recommend for teens.

Three women are summoned by Gods to find three keys that together will break an evil spell. If they succeed, Malory, Dana and Zoe will receive handsome rewards for their services. Malory, with her exceptional knowledge of art, is chosen to go first. She begins her quest with the help of her new friends, and Dana's handsome brother, Flynn. Malory is immediately attracted to Flynn, but doesn't have time for romance when she has only 28 days to find her key.

I found this story slow in places, but it was an interesting beginning to the trilogy. I will definitely be reading the others in the series. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

First trilogy of Nora Roberts that I read. Like the magical aspect of it and it kept me entertained and eager to read the next one. Not a big romance fan but it was tolerable.

A story of mystic and wonderment, Nora Robert's Key of Light is a fanciful tale about the lives three women whose lives are intertwined with those of goddesses. Dana, Zoe, and Mallory's lives could not be more different, except for the fact they look all look like the Daughters of the Glass. The goddesses have been locked into a glass box from an evil sorcerer named Kane. This is the first book in a trilogy; each book is about one of the girls, starting off with Mallory, Dana, and then Zoe. Each girl has to find one of the three keys to open the glass box, if any of them do not find a key; they then lose a year of their lives'. Through their adventure the three women are helped by a god and goddess, Pitte and Rowena. The gods have been cast out from behind the curtain of Power (the shield that separates the mortals' world from the gods') because of not protecting the three demi-goddesses from the evil sorcerer.

Rowena asks the women to take up the challenge, "I will make you an offer, you will each have, in turn, one phase of the moon to find one of the three keys. If all three keys are brought to this place, before the end of the third moon, you will each be given a boon."It is not a surprise this book was a #1 New York Times Bestseller, because of its action packed sequence, mystical tale with some romance tied in.
