Paul Feig tells of his life growing up in the 70's - of his first orgasm experienced while attempting to climb a rope in gym class, the terror of having to undress and shower in Jr. High, of his many crushes and how he unsuccessfully went about pursuing them...he tells of a disastrous date with a girl who he thought beautiful in school only to be horrified at her helmet-headed appearance when he arrived to pick her up for a school dance...he reminisces about the horrors of learning first aid on "Rescui-Annie" and his revulsion at all the mouths and saliva that had touched her lips...

And oh, so many other stories. Kind of reminds me of David Sedaris...maybe not quite as funny as David Sedaris, but still good.

Interesting, but a little wordy, although some of the stories were pretty funny.. This guy was very strange as a kid.
The bus driver story is the best.

Painfully hilarious, a quick read . . . if you were a nerd and/or are a teacher, as I am, this book is a must.

This is one of the funniest books I've ever read! Anyone can relate with Paul Feig's stories. Very honest, witty, and extremely funny!

Uncomfortably funny. I'm not big on memoirs, but this was good.

Paul Feig was the poster boy for nerd and geek in high school, junior high and elementary school. If these stories are really true, then it's amazing that he got out of adolesence still alive! You're laughing while you're hurting for Paul - it's a quick, easy read - entertaining in a sort of sick kind of way - sort of like watching a car accident - you don't want to watch but you can't take your eyes away!

If you liked the show "Freaks and Geeks" then by all means, read this book. It's funny.

Paul Feig gives you a look into his life growing up with bullies and painful inability to fit in. At times the stories are funny and others, just painful to read. Delivery is a little dry but I do recommend this eye opening book.
