I feel a little bad giving this book only 2 stars. There is nothing much wrong with the writing, repetition aside, but the crime is simply unbelievably stupid as are the characters. The creator of the plot is a serial fabricator who has spent his entire life making up weird spy, espionage, CIA, etc. fantasies. What I found amazing was that this fairly smart man could endure the company of dupes stupid enough to buy into his fantasy world. One not only buys in; he actually commits a murder of the liar's wife, without realizing it is just convenient for the master of the plan. Additionally the wife ignores signs her husband is not at all who he pretends to be, which makes her less than sympathetic. The book failed to hold my interest more because of the people involved than any writing problems.
