Had seen some of the trial coverage on Court TV. Read the book for a more thorough and detailed picture. This case had a lot of difficult aspects to it. Unfortunately, by the time the murder investigation was started; she had moved & cleaned the apartment, and had plenty of time to hide/ destroy a lot of evidence. Although I already knew the outcome, I still had a few questions regarding evidence/ clues and leads were not followed up on,etc that were not mentioned or addressed in this book. Overall, it was quite the page turner, and would recommend it as a very interesting murder case.

I watched this trial live on CourtTV and so wanted to read the book. It filled in lots of details - made Melanie seem even more unsympathetic than the actual trial. I enjoyed the book and think it was well written.

When you read a good book it is just like a good movie... you don't want it to end just yet. This was a very good book. The only negative thing I could say was the court details were a bit boring but it didn't detract from the fact the book was good. Jan in Phoenix

Melanie McGuire had a loving husband, two beautiful children and was a highly respected nurse. So what was her problem? She was in love with another man. So why not get a divorce? It was easier for her to kill and dismember her husband, or so she thought. Melanie was described throughout the book as being slender and sometimes underweight, so how did she manage to carry suitcases filled with body parts and throw them into the bay? "To Have and to Kill" is an interesting story and a good read.
