Normally I enjoy Iris Johansen's books, but this one I had a hard time getting through. It was slow and disjointed. The interaction between the characters was tiring and the dialogue was cheesy. It had the potential to be a good story, but Sophie was a whiner. I wanted to just slap her. I felt like I had started the book in the middle and had missed something all the way through it. Not one of her best works at all. No wonder the title is "Killer Dreams", it puts you to sleep and you have nightmares about having to finish it.

First Iris Johansen book I have read and I absolutely loved it. Her characters are vivid, real, and mesmerizing. The story line keeps you guessing and wanting more. A difficult book to put down once you start. I highly recommend this book if you are a lover of mystery, romance, and the unexpected twists and turns this writer provides.

I kept thinking I had read this book. The "love" scenes were worded exactly as in a previous book, character names were different. The tough guy wants the victim and tells her he is going to get her just like in a previous book. The victim ends up in the hand of the villain to protect a loved one she does as he wants but it's a set up, just like in a previous book. It's just so close to another of her books, no new material, just change the names? I love her books but this one was a let down. If you haven't read her previous book it might be okay for you. If you have you're going to feel like you've already read it. Not her best idea for a book. Change it up, we don't want to keep hearing the tough guy tell the victim he is going to have to have sex with her to stay sane. I hope her next book is better or I may not be in a hurry to get any more. I guess they run out of ideas.

If we still had cable, I'd be able to watch a Lifetime movie instead of reading something like this. All the author's standalone books are very cheesy and formulaic, but I like to keep one or two around for when I need to shut my brain off. This was not her best in terms of suspense, and also because the hero is referred to as Royd. Very, very poor choice: âOh, Royd!â

Someone is watching. He's a shadowy figure from out of her darkest fears and he hasn't forgotten her. In one shocking moment of violence, he'd shattered Sophie's world forever. But the nightmare isn't over. Sophie was supposed to die the first time around, but fate intervened. This time he'll make sure that not even a miracle will save her.
Matt Royd is a wild card---- hard, cool, merciless---- and the man chosen to protect Sophie. She will have to trust Royd because she has no choices left. Because the bogeyman haunting her dreams is all too real and he's on the hunt again. Because the nightmare he's got planned for Sophie won't end when she wakes up screaming. It won't end. EVER.
