Normally I enjoy Iris Johansen's books, but this one I had a hard time getting through. It was slow and disjointed. The interaction between the characters was tiring and the dialogue was cheesy. It had the potential to be a good story, but Sophie was a whiner. I wanted to just slap her. I felt like I had started the book in the middle and had missed something all the way through it. Not one of her best works at all. No wonder the title is "Killer Dreams", it puts you to sleep and you have nightmares about having to finish it.

First Iris Johansen book I have read and I absolutely loved it. Her characters are vivid, real, and mesmerizing. The story line keeps you guessing and wanting more. A difficult book to put down once you start. I highly recommend this book if you are a lover of mystery, romance, and the unexpected twists and turns this writer provides.

I kept thinking I had read this book. The "love" scenes were worded exactly as in a previous book, character names were different. The tough guy wants the victim and tells her he is going to get her just like in a previous book. The victim ends up in the hand of the villain to protect a loved one she does as he wants but it's a set up, just like in a previous book. It's just so close to another of her books, no new material, just change the names? I love her books but this one was a let down. If you haven't read her previous book it might be okay for you. If you have you're going to feel like you've already read it. Not her best idea for a book. Change it up, we don't want to keep hearing the tough guy tell the victim he is going to have to have sex with her to stay sane. I hope her next book is better or I may not be in a hurry to get any more. I guess they run out of ideas.

This is an excellent book - one of Johansen's best - and that is saying a lot. All too real with current events as they are today.

Just finished this book and what a thriller! I love Iris Johansen's books and this is one of the best I've read.

I was a little disappointed in this book. I found it hard to become attached or involved emotionally with the lead characters. I walked away feeling less than satisfied. The plot and tension was good, but there was no emotional connection.

Sophie's life is torn apart by the man who dismissed her from her research position, and then altered the drug she created to help others into a mind control drug instead. She loses eveyone but her son, and is intent upon killing the monster who destroyed her family.

Another Great Suspense Thriller by this author. I love how Ms Johansen alway brings back a character or two from her previous books and incorporates them into the new story line. Great Book by a Great writer.

Good Johansen novel.

Smart, pretty gal with morals meets rugged, handsome guy with none, until he meets her of course. They get the bad guys and it's happily ever after. Typical Johansen, just different names and different places. Still, it's a quick enjoyable read.

If you close you eyes, he'll get you. Sophie Dunston knows all too well how dreams can kill. As one of the nation's top sleep therapists, she specializes in the life-threatening night terrors that her ten-year-old son, Michael, suffers from. But she is also an expert in another kind of terror---the kind that can turn a dream life into a living nightmare in the blink of an eye. She will have to trust alot of people she does not know to end the terror. This book has it all....action, romance, castles, bomb plots, arson, trained killers, murder, lots of suspense that holds to the end.

Iris Johansen is such an awesome writer! I don't know how I've lived this long without knowing about her until I joined this site! You will love this book cover to cover, I can promise you that.

I looked and looked, but there's no running woman on the front or back cover. Maybe she's shifted to the weather motif.

Although a standalone, this romantic thriller by bestselling author Iris Johansen contains several characters from her other novels. Sophie Dunston, a sleep researcher who specializes in coping with night terrors, faces off against an unscrupulous pharmaceutical corporation using a drug she invented to program people into mindless assassins. Protecting Sophie and aiding her in her quest is Matt Royd, a former victim of the drug.

Very good suspense thriller. Hard to put down.

I was a bit mislead and disappointed with this book of Johansen's. I've read others of hers that are better. The title led me to believe something entirely different from the storyline, although I did read the summary on the back. I didn't find the story that believable and most people don't hang out with assassins. Better luck next time.

Highly recommended spine chilling thriller, one of the best by Johansen. The sexual tension and dialogue between Sophie and Royd is edgy and dynamic. Some of the characters from 'Countdown' are back in this story: Laird Mcduff, Jock Gavin and Jane Mcguire.

Always a great read.
If we still had cable, I'd be able to watch a Lifetime movie instead of reading something like this. All the author's standalone books are very cheesy and formulaic, but I like to keep one or two around for when I need to shut my brain off. This was not her best in terms of suspense, and also because the hero is referred to as Royd. Very, very poor choice: âOh, Royd!â
Typical Iris Johansen. If you've read one, you've read them all.
Great story, kept me really going and adds to another series she has been doing, though it could stand alone.
This book was a little hard to get into but the determination was worth it in the end! It was an awesome book.
Great book, More about Jock!
This is not the usual type of book that i read, however I loved it. THis was my first Iris Johansen novel and it won't be my last. I can't wait to read another!
THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT BOOK I REALLY ENJOYED IT,HOPE YALL WILL!
I normally like Iris Johansen but this one was hard for me to get through.
This book was very good kept my interest read it in two days dang talk about a great story weaver...I will be reading more of her books...very soon..this copy is in no shapr to go anywhere though so is being donated to a local hospital...
It was alright ...
Someone is watching. He's a shadowy figure from out of her darkest fears and he hasn't forgotten her. In one shocking moment of violence, he'd shattered Sophie's world forever. But the nightmare isn't over. Sophie was supposed to die the first time around, but fate intervened. This time he'll make sure that not even a miracle will save her.
Matt Royd is a wild card---- hard, cool, merciless---- and the man chosen to protect Sophie. She will have to trust Royd because she has no choices left. Because the bogeyman haunting her dreams is all too real and he's on the hunt again. Because the nightmare he's got planned for Sophie won't end when she wakes up screaming. It won't end. EVER.

Truly suspenseful. Once opened it's hard to put down
This book will absolutely not disappoint!
OMG!!! This is a wonderful read
I found this book to be confusing at first with so many characters being introduced within the first few pages. Later on you can tell who is the bad person and who are the good. It was sort of long and drawn out in some places. It was a good book but not one that is unforgettable.
It was better than I thought it would be. The title doesnt really match the plot of the book but other than that it was a pleasant read.
i enjoyed all her books in this set. very good reading.. holds you to it.
This is the first book by Iris Johansen that I've read. Will definitely read her again.
I read this book in one afternoon. I couldn't put it down. Many twists and turns and a happy ending.
enjoyed it
Another great thriller from Johansen. Excellent read.
A very good book and keeps you quessing about what is going on until the end.
Killer Dreams (Iris Johansen)

Spell-binding--made me want to read it all in one sitting. True Iris Johansen style.
Really enjoyed reading this book. Always keeps you turning the pages to read more.
i keeped me reading. but all of Iris johansen books do.
Very good read.
Sophia Dunston is a sleep therapist, specializing in night terrors. Her son Michael suffers from them. Someone is watching her. someone who wants to destroy her and her son. This story brings Jock Gavin a semi-retired hit man, Jane McGuire, and McDuff of McDuff's Run back. Very exciting story line.
one of my favorite authors!

Very good book.
Woman haunted by nightmares.
I've never actually gone beyond the cover on any of her books, but do her victims ever WALK anywhere?
I only listened to half of this book and stopped. I got tired of the author trying to turn this into a romance novel. That's NOT what I wanted, what it was advertised as, and what "romance" I did read, stunk. Sorry Iris Johansen, you really sunk the boat on this one.
Fast paced, some surprises; some predictability. Typical book of this genre, but overall enjoyable and a quick read.
Book Club Edition. Sophie Dunston is out to get the man responsible for killing her parents. But she needs help and Matt Royd is chosen for the job - he's hard, cool and merciless.
Very good suspense thriller. Hard to put down.
Not a page-turner, but suspenseful enough to keep me reading. I prefer more narrative than conversation to tell a story. Her fans will probably really like it.
I seem to be noticing a pattern. I have just found this author and loved pandora's book and quicksand. Then I tried two of the Killer books and they seem like the same book with different names. I like thrillers, but not the kind where I have a nice strong female character, who of course is beautiful to boot, but then she finds some guy who is really tough, nice and tough and then he blows it by falling for her. I need these tough guys to stay tough and walk away. Let the tough chick stay tough without ALWAYs strolling into the guys bedroom right before the hunt. I think I need to stick with some of my favorites. I may try one more Iris book but not sure. I have added this to my sappy romance thriller tag. Try Tami Hoag if you haven't already.

It wasn't a miracle that saved Jock Gavin, but it was pretty close. A semiretired hit man, commando, and the jack-of-all-trades, he knows what Sophie is up against-and that she'll need help. But the man he's chosen for the job is as unpredicatable as he is dangerous. Matt Royd is a wild card-hard, cool, merciless-and putting him into play changes the game completely.

Enjoyed this one. Easy, fast, suspenseful read.

Someone is watching....
He's a shadowy figure from her darkest nightmare and he hasn't forgotten her. In one shocking instant he'd shattered Sophie Dunston's world forever. Now she has only one thing to live for, her son, Michael. And their nightmare is far from over.
Someone is waiting....
As one of the nation's top sleep therapists, Sophie knows how dreams can kill. She specializes in the life-threatening night terror that her son suffers from - but even his worst nightmares don't compare with the all-too-real terror that's about to begin.
Someone will die....
Sophie's only ally is a man as unpredictable as he is dangerous. Matt Royd is a wild card - hard, cool, merciless - and putting him into play changes the game completely. But if Sophie makes the wrong move, she won't wake up screaming. She won't wake up. Ever.
