Since her mother's death, Jenny's dad has been on a downward alcoholic spiral. Their detective's office has been hanging on by a string while JD goes on benders and Jenny tries to keep the office open. Jenny tries to solve cases, to keep afloat. This has the ring of a 1930's Perry Mason drama. The story is straightforward and interesting.
The pacing in this novel was uneven, going from slow to fast, and back again. Overall score = G+.
