Diane Mott Davidson and her series about Goldy the caterer and the mysteries she gets herself tangled up in are always fun to read.

I enjoyed the theme of this mystery much more than the first 4 books in the Goldy series. In addition to the catering, this one centers on spa products and cosmetics (with some animal cruelty activists) and questions whether or not women are any more pretty for using expensive beauty regimes and is product safety testing worth the cost to animals (and possibly some people?) -- good questions!!
And the recipes given in this episode are...LOW FAT! Haven't tried them yet, but there are some yummy looking ones like low-fat fettuccine alfredo, vanilla frosted fudge cookies and Grand Marnier cranberry muffins.
This is my favorite so far in this series.

Cosmetics, food, and murder, all in one book! This was a fun read. Some old characters (Frances the smoking, caffeine-drinking newspaper lady) and some new characters. Goldy really gets herself in some weird situations while Tom tries to keep her from investigating and getting into trouble. Can she catch the killer and cook lowfat at the same time? Read this to find out.
