I read this book when I was about eleven years old, in a week on summer when my friends went away to day camp. Fabulous reader though, I especially loved the unexpected twists and turns the story took every character through. Their way of scaring the teacher goes sour, but the main story here doesn't. I recommend it to any young adult reader who enjoys mysteries, and/or thrillers.

This will appeal to teens - when I read it in 9th grade I loved it. A tough-but-"good" English teacher upsets his class just a bit too much and some of them decide to kidnap him to teach him a lesson. Unfortunately, he has a weak heart and they end up killing him instead. The rest of the story revolves around Mrs Griffin trying to get to the bottom of it, and she knows that one of the students had something to do with it...the "good girl" and teachers pet who got sucked into the plot not knowing how it was going to turn out.
Adults reading this after years of reading crime/mystery novels will see that the plot is "way out there" and a bit silly but it's a fun campy read anyway...
