A better summary/synopsis from CL WIlson's site:
Returning to the Fading Lands with his Celierian truemate, Rain discovers a dissension among the most powerful members of his own council. As the Eld plot their next deadly strike, Ellysetta struggles to master her powerful magic and discover how to save the tairen, while Rain confronts open challenge to his rule and prepares to lead the Fey army to war.
****
Although it wasn't as fast paced as the previous book, it was still pretty freaking amazing! While at times it felt more like a transitional part of the overall story than anything else the end just blows you away, despite concluding with a sort-of cliffhanger --the whole first part of the book feels like the calm before the storm, which of course is just where the book ends!
...If you can (I obviously couldn't) I'd say wait till the fourth comes out so you can read them altogether...though according to her website the last books' release date has been pushed back (Again!) to June of next year! I literally just finished reading this one, and I'm already on tenterhooks waiting for Queen of Song and Souls (Though at the same time, I'm dreading the series ending!)

I am at a loss for words. I can not think of the proper way to describe my love of King of Sword and Sky! If I could give this book more than 5 Enchantments I would. C. L. Wilson has a way of making her stories come alive. Each page I read was as if it was taking place in front of me. I did not see the words on the page I saw what was happening in the story. I could see the colors of the sky, I could smell everything, and most of all I could feel the pain and love. This is the kind of story that sticks with you and makes you think of it for days to come. I cried with the way the book left off but I understand why it ended as it did. I have faith that the fourth book, Queen of song and souls will be just as good as the first three were. With that said the books does not stand very well by itself and the first two should be read before King of Sword and Sky. The character relations are very confusing and the first two explain it all. I highly recommend this series to anyone who wants a page turning, never ending action, keeping you on the end of your seat, story.

Fun bodice ripper fantasy. Third book in the series. Light reading, nothing complex or difficult. Nicely drawn characters. Enjoy!
This a a great continuation of the Tairen Soul Series. Following the growth and development of the characters as they find their way through the troubled times they are living in. It is a really good book.

Rain has defied the nobles to wed Ellysetta so that they can battle the war that is upcoming. She is learning to get control of her power not well written was a page turner.
Although, I like the book overall, and the series, it seems like the storyline is just going on and on.
I love this series. It gets better with each installment. It is so edge of your seat waiting for the bond to be completed between the hero and heroine. Exciting, magical, sensual, and extremely engaging. A must read.
I completely loved this series! There is so much detail, depth, and turns to make it impossible to put down until you have finished! I recommend these books to anyone who enjoys fantasy and a little romance. If you like Christine Feehan's Carpathian books you will love these.
Fantastic Fantasy romance series. Epic scale. Beautifully told.
C.L. Wilson is like today's Tolkien. At the end of each of her books I feel as if I've just finished a journey, and can't wait for the next to begin. She has created a complex and believable world full of light & dark, good & evil. Read this series in order or the characters and plot will be confusing. I can't wait for the next one!
