THIS BOOK WAS AWESOME!!! I really enjoy this author. The plot was great and it had many twist and turns . If you like a book that will keep you guessing until the end, here is the book for you.(Warning: This book does deal with sexual abuse of children and may not be for every reader.)

Loved the book. This is the first I've read of Karin Slaughter, and now I'm going to have to find her other books!
Helpful Score: 4
It is difficult to say I enjoyed a book that involves child abuse and pornography, but in the context of this book I did enjoy it. Slaughter's book intertwines both the âA' storyline, which in this case is the death of a young girl who has been horribly abused and mutilated, and the âB' storyline, which involves the relationship of Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver who are divorced and trying to make sense of their relationship. There is also another story regarding Detective Lena Adams and her ongoing recovery from events that were introduced in book one of this series, Blindsighted. I found the development of these characters and their relationships really well written and convincing. The storyline involving the child abuse is not for the faint of heart. It is dark, grisly, graphic and shocking. At times it was difficult to read but I had to learn how the story turned out. In real life fashion not everything is tied up in a neat and happy ever after package. I have the next book in the series, A Faint Cold Fear, but I think I will need a little break before going on with the series.

I just got started reading this series, and this is the second one I've read. I'm hooked! The storyline was quite graphic and dealt with the sexual abuse of children, so beware, but it is a mesmerizing police thriller.

A chilling and powerful tale of small town evil.
This book will keep you reading.

Second book I read in this series. Loved it as much as the first. She has become one of my favorite authors. I really feel like I know the characters. This is a real page turner. I have now ordered every book in this series.

Another graphic tale of violence in fictional Grant County, Georgia. Sara, Jeffrey and Lena continue as the main characters, and I think the reader would prefer to have read the previous novel in the series, Blindsighted, before tackling this one. Slaughter does a great job of making the reader empathize with her characters, and her plot, though gruesome, is compelling.

I just finished Kisscut, my 2nd Karin Slaughter. I love a good series, & this Grant County series is a good one. Karin Slaughter is a great author for the slightly morbid (yes, like me!). Shock-value plays a big part of her books. A friend mentioned to me that she enjoyed this second book more than the first, Blindsighted, because it wasn't as graphic, but that really isn't true! I can hardly wait to discuss this with her! Not much bothers me, & I wasn't disturbed by either book, but I did find myself saying, "Eww!" a few times during this one!
I really enjoy the relationships in this series, particularly that of Sara & Jeffrey. I won't give anything away, but for those who have only read books 1 &/or 2, I want to add that I am anxious to get to book 3 because I'm a bit worried about Lena & how her behavior & thoughts are concerning... I can almost hear ominous old-time soap-opera music in the background along with, "Tune in next book when we find Lena..."

If you can get past the subject matters (pedophilia and incest) which are gross, this is a suspenseful thriller. It will be a better read if you read Blindsighted, because the story lines from the previous book continue in this one.

Not my favorite Karin Slaughter book, but it was still good. Subject matter may be hard to take for some people. I always love the twists & turns in her books, though!
I was unable to listen to the entire book as two of the tapes sound was garbeled and could not be understood.
An absolutely amazing book. If you enjoy crime fiction this is a series you shouldn't miss. I was shocked, touched, saddened and engrossed by this story. The second in the Grant County series, I enjoyed this even more than the first, which I thought was fabulous. Karin Slaughter's characters and plots weave together perfectly then unravel in unexpected ways. Right when I thought I couldn't hate a character more I suddenly felt for him or her. I love her forensic details and her gritty reality. She brings humanity to acts most couldn't see as anything but heinous. Not for the squeamish or faint of heart.
Chilling, tense crime fiction with an appealing central character, Sara Linton, a pediatrician and medical examiner who appears in several of Karin Slaughter's books.
Second book in the Dr. Sara Linton series.
Karin Slaughter is a bold thriller writer that does not disappoint with Kisscut. This story delves into child abuse and kiddie porn. How can this go on for so long in a small Georgia town? This extremely well organized child pornography ring has escaped the FBI for years. Will the ringleaders be caught this time?
Sara Linton, pediatrician and medical examiner in Heartsdale, Georgia, knows too well the secrets that hide behind closed doors. Saturday night at the skating rink is interrupted by death. Autopsy on the dead girl reveals abuse and mutilation. Sara can't believe that a patient of hers could suffer like this and she not know it. Police chief Jeffrey Tolliver and dectetive Lena Adams, still traumatized by her attack by a maniac, are frustrated when families and friends of the victims won't talk.
Good book. Four stars.

Good book. Keeps you on the edge of your seat
good series. This kept me reading, trying to figure it out !
I started this book and couldn't seem to get into it after the first few pages, then I read another book by this author with the same characters in it and really enjoyed the story. So tried this one again and I'm really glad I did as this time around it kept me glued to the story, in fact I think I enjoyed this story even more.
A older book I found in my Mother's closet and Wow was it ever good.
I'm really enjoying this series. Great character development and it's interesting to see the good guys/gals being less than perfect. Very hard to put down.
Great suspenseful books! If you love Patricia Cornwell, you'll like Karin Slaughter. I stayed up way too late reading this one!
This thriller is extremely well written and has a good mystery to it, but it's subject material is way out there and the "police" are just as screwed up as the criminals, for me I figured it out early on, I did continue reading as the story was well written but I will not be picking up any more in this series, the characters are too flawed to root for anyone.
It is hard to say this is a really good book, but as it goes in the series, it is... but be warned, it is not for the faint of heart. While difficult to read at times, it is a good continuation of the characters and how they are dealing with their own personal issues, while trying to solve a crime against a teenage girl. A recommended read for those reading the Grant County series.
Very good crime fiction featuring a pediatrician and medicial and her ex husband police chief Jeffrey Tolliver. Interesting story, fast and enjoyable read.
Second book in the series, based in a small town in Georgia. Very good author. very suspenseful. Hard to put down, wanted to know what was going to happen next. This book is dealing with sexual abuse of children and child porngraphy. I'm hooked on her books, can's wait to start on the the third one.
A chilling and powerful story!
Love it! Cant wait to read the next one!
If you like Patricia Cornwell this is just as good.
I think this series is kind of dark, but the characteres are enjoyable.
Sara Linton, pediatrican and medical examiner in Heartsdale Georgia, knows only too well the horros that can hide behind closed doors in a small community. But when a Saturday night argument between teenagers at the local skating rink leads to death--and subsequent autopsy reveals evidence of ritualistic self-mutilation and long-term abuse--she realizes that true evil is closer than she imagined. Joining with her ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, and Detective Lena Adams, still traumatized by her brush with a manic, in an investigation that is frustrated at every turn--by the cold silence of the families and the children surrounding the slain girl.
I really like this series by Karin Slaughter, although she can be a bit graphic at times.
an average thriller
Great Crime Fiction!
Picks up where "Blindsighted" left off, following Sara Linton, town coroner whose ex-husband is the town's police chief. This time she deals with pedophiles.
Wonderful follow-up to Blindsighted! Read it in about 3 days!
crime fiction at it's best !!!
Another edge of your seat thriller by Karin Slaughter.
As good as the first one, Blindsighted. Graphic violence described and sexual acts against children alluded to but not in detail. Gripping but not for the faint of heart.
Excellent story! One I'm adding to my *keep* collection!
"A chilling and powerful tale of small town evil"
GOOD MYSTERY
Excellent! Fans of Patricia Cornwell and Kathy Reichs will enjoy this book. Southern setting, great characters.
mystery....very good!
I couldn't put it down, absolutely amazing!
Intensely disturbing book
Great book in a great series.
Crime fiction that borders on horror. If you aren't easily grossed out, you'll love this book.
I could not finish this book fast enough!!!!!
Great book, sensitive subject. Pretty graphic/disturbing. (child molestation)
Sara Linton and her ex-husband, Jeffrey Tolliver, are on a date at the skating rink when a teenage girl pulls a gun. A shoot-out ensues and medical examiner Sara ends up examining the girl at the morgue. The autopsy shows signs of long-term abuse and mutilation.
Jeffrey and detective Lena Adams begin their investigation into the case. They find the children close to the victim aren't talking. The families have turned their backs. When a young girl is abducted, it becomes clear that there is a dark presence in the small Georgia town.
This is the second book in Slaughter's Grant County series. This series should definitely be read in order since this book touches on many things that happened in the previous book and gives us background into what makes the great characters in this book tick. This is a very dark suspense novel. Warning to readers...the subject matter may not appeal to everyone. My rating: 4 Stars.

Most invole I have been in a book for months. Ordered all of her books.
Excellent sequel to "Blindsighted"; has all of the main characters continuing their journey in the depths of Grant County. Excellent character development - makes you really care about what happens to them. Couldn't put this one down!
Karin Slaughter is becoming one of my favorite authors. Be sure to start this series in Book 1 so you can follow the stories in order. The twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat and you find you become so engrossed in each characters story.
