I was a little concerned as i started this book. I found myself drifting. Then as I got into it, I felt as if I had missed something, so that probably means my mind was elsewhere and not necessarilly at fault of the author.
That being said, I did like the hero and heroine. They were a little iffy to start, but as their characters developed, I enjoyed them much more.
I loved The heroine's brothers (although we don't see much of them). There is an especially nice scene near the beginning when one brother describes her ability to love. It does tell a lot about her.
The end was a bit predictable, but I liked it none the less. Left me HEA so I am happy.

I enjoyed this story but the poor editing pulled me out of the story so much it was quite irritating. So many words were left out...small words...but words that oft times made a difference in what was really meant. I cannot imagine how this version EVER made it to print!

I've been reading this series in order, and so far this one is my least favorite, probably because it took place far away from the familiar environment of London and Pennyroyal Green, and the recurring characters I have grown to love. We do finally meet the heroine's mysterious missing older brother Lyon Redmond, however. I'm still glad I read it, because I am so hooked on this author and the two families(Redmond and Eversea) involved that I wouldn't want to miss any developments.
It's well written and entertaining, the plot was just not my cup of tea. If you like pirate stories and adventures on the high seas you'll probably love it.

Enjoyed this one quite a bit! Storyline is just different enough from the typical romance that it kept me engaged (still a fairly traditional romance at the end, though). Another reviewer commented on the poor editing and I must agree- it wasn't so bad that it was difficult to decipher but annoying nonetheless.
