This book is a really great read for women who are wanting to know a little bit about everything in counseling. If you are in a ministry of any sort there will surely be someone that will come to you looking for help and this book definitely will help prepare you. This first portion talks about the basics of counseling and defines "Kitchen Table Counseling" and the second portion goes through specific topics, ranging from suicide to worth to domestic abuse. Definitely a great read to get a better idea of how to counsel someone in general, but it doesn't really get specific or deep on any one issue. As a psych major, I found that it only scratched the surface, but if you've had no background or extended study on the topics, it's definitely a great tool.

I'm very glad that I got this book. Helps to take a good, hard look at myself before I can set out to help others. Truly helpful.
