This is book 6 in the Kitty Norville series. I thought this book was better than the last book and a great addition to the series.

In this book Kitty returns to Denver to try and live a normal life with her new husband Ben. Well, of course things don't stay normal. Kitty's pack is being hunted by a horrible, invisible, fire-loving supernatural creature of some sort and Kitty thinks it might be tied to the events that happened in Las Vegas in Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand.

This was a great addition to this series. For once Kitty is in charge; she is making smart (if not always informed) decisions and carrying out plans. Her wry sense of humor is still in force, there is a lot of action in this book and it clicks along as a super fast pace. I was happy that the storyline dealing with the Las Vegas shapeshifters was expanded on and Odysseus Rex was part of that wonderful storyline. Rick is a great character and another new mysterious vampire enters the scene.

I love that this book propelled itself forward without needing all the emotional baggage that comes along with the unstable relationships featured in a lot of paranormal series. Kitty and Ben have a happy, stable relationship and it is nice to see a good story where the characters are well-adjusted caring individuals.

The latest news I heard was that there was only going to be 7 books in this series. I am not sure if that is still true or not. Either way I am looking forward to the next book.

Kitty Raises Hell occurs really quickly after the fifth book, Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand. Because these books were released so close to each other (one in February and one in March this year), I think they are meant to be read together with Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand doing much of the set up for what's going on now. Kitty is back from her adventures in Las Vegas, but the problems she encountered there aren't over yet. A week after she's in Denver, the werewolf club of New Moon gets a vaguely threatening message - the word "Tiamat" burned on it's front door. All the wolves are on edge, waiting for some sort of attack, and soon they get what they expect in the form of a creature that smells like brimstone and sets fires.

I liked this installment better than the last one - lots more action and less of a feeling of waiting while set up is going on, but my favorite is probably still Kitty Takes a Holiday. I did think "wait a minute" a once when it felt like Kitty was being saved at the last minute, but she does save herself at other points so I guess I won't focus on it.

This book started out a bit slower than the other ones in this series and so it took me longer to read than usual. But it really picks up about half way through and ends up a good read. I really like the characters and they stay true to each other with each book. They are written consistantly and are well rounded. Can't wait to read the next one in this series!

A fast riveting read. I liked the first books in this series enough to search out the rest, I have yet to be disappointed.

Paranormal/ Urban Fantasy, Book 6 in the Kitty Norville series. It's been awhile since I read Book 5, but I was able to get the gist of the tale. Returning from their Honeymoon, Kitty and Ben discover something has followed them from Vegas. Kitty enlists help from some new sources. I enjoy Kitty, she's not your typical Alpha. Good book.

What goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas - except when the fire demon called up by a vampire and her lycanthrope cult dedicated to an ancient Babylonian goddess of chaos chases after you. Kitty finds herself and her pack targets of the Tiamat cult she managed to escape from in the last book. To complicate matters further, a lone roving vampire arrives in Denver who supposedly has the means to contain the demon - but his price is either control of the city's vampires or Kitty's loyalty. With people and places burning up all around her, Kitty is getting desperate. While the addition of the djinn makes for a more confusing paranormal cauldron in her already packed world, Vaughn manages to keep the story tight, the suspense high, the action flowing, her characters growing, and the resolution satisfying in this sixth installment of her understandably popular series.

For me, this book was not as good as previous stories, and I got lost in some of the storytelling. This 6th book would have been improved with book 7 added to it, as I think the stories are too quick a read, too few pages.

This book was another well written kitty installment. She opened up new characters for Kitty to come play with in the next book. It takes place shortly after the first book lets off. Kitty and Ben have just gotten back from Vegas where they barely escaped with their lives only to find out something followed them back. Kitty tries her best to find out what has been harassing her except she can't see it and only smell's it. Death and Chaos ensue until Kitty can find out whats hunting her and stop it.

This book was excellent with lots of action. It was a little bit "scary" at times. I couldn't put it down.

This series is now getting serious with book 6 being darker nature. It involves an ancient vampire/goddess, an ancient cult and a "genie"??? The ending of this book is not as predictable and is more like Anita Blake book series. Not quite there yet but I am beginning to like where the author. Carrie Vaughn, is taking this. I would recommend reading it starting at the beginning as each book goes a little bit further. I will definately be reading the entire series as it becomes available.
