An un-biased book that tells the story of the Ruby Ridge standoff and the Weaver family. It also documents some of the actions taken by the governmental law enforcement agencies before, during, and after the conflict.

The Author did a great job with this book, bringing out the fact that it was a terrible tragedy. A extremely relgious family, what most of us might call "religious nut cases", that certainly did not deserve to be treated by our Government in the manner they were.
If Randy would have turned himself in none of this would have happened. However if the Government had not sent a small army in for what was in reality a minor offense that wasn't even a sure conviction. A couple of Cowboys in the invasion force open fire and all hell breaks loose, a dark day in the History of our Government, that was as out of control as any of the Militias.

I enjoyed this very much. It shed light on how this led up to the tragedy. It was thorough in showing both sides of this story.

The Weaver family took to the woods to escape what they believed was a sinful world on the brink of Armageddon. But Weavers indictment on a firearms violation escalated into a deadly shoot-out at his northern Idaho cabin. Before it was over, a federal marshal, Weavers wife, and his only son were dead. Based on true events.
