I dont knit, but would like to learn. Even if you are not a knitter, you will enjoy this book. I think the Author has talent. She doesnt overwhelm you with quirky characters, or weird names, or bizarre new terms. She knew how to make the story, the knitting and characters believable. The investigating people officers were not labeled and fools. You didnt feel insulted by the end of the story and you didnt feel like they rushed in the end as they reveal all the details. I just ordered the second book and I cant say I do that for all the Cozies I have started to read.

Loved this easy read bk with a clever plot and ending. If you like to knit and go to knit shops this mystery is especially good. There are 2 knit patterns and a sticky bun reciepe too.

The most fun aspect of this novel was the additional facts that kept coming to light right up to last chapter. We learned about Aunt Helen's history right along with the main character, her niece Kelly. Some readers won't enjoy the fact that some of the characters may be considered stereotypical comedic fare. But if you enjoy a mostly cozy mystery that is basically a puzzle with pieces that come to light step by step, then you will probably enjoy this book.

It took me a little while to become accustomed to the characters, but once I did I have to tell you I love this book! I will definately be reading the rest in the series and hope she writes many more! There is a bonus in here two, a Rotweiler named Carl! Kelly comes back to her Aunt's home town to settle Aunt Helen's affairs after her death. She was killed in her own house and the police are sure it was a vagrant that did it. After checking around a bit Kelly isn't sure and along with her new friends decides to do something about it. Great Story!

An enjoyable mystery and an interesting look at the world of fiber arts through the eyes of a beginner. I look forward to others in the series. Perhaps the patterns included in the book will lead other to the wonderful world of yarn.

I am an avid knitter, reader, and mystery lover. This book has led me to believe that anyone with a juvenile writing ability and mediocre knitting/fiber knowledge can write a mystery book and have it published. I felt like I was back in high school reading a Baby Sitter's Club book. The knitters are the most friendly and helpful people you've ever heard of, and here is poor Kelly, a non-knitter (pity her!). The knitters teach her to knit, find peace, etc. etc. This book is so full of "goodness" I almost choked on the gigantic pieces of sugar stuck in my throat.

This is a great book. Maggie really keeps you guessing the killers identity from the start till just about the end of the book. Suspensful and interesting. Kelly Flynn is a relatable character and the author keeps you guessing about her relationship with Steve. Its really a murder mystery/love story. I like the idea that each book in this series has both the knitting pattern and recipe that are in the story. Its a great series Im currently up to book 4! A must read.

As a new knitter myself, I enjoyed this book. It was a breeze to read and had enough characters to make you wonder 'whodunit'. While not quite in the same murder mystery vein, as say, Mary Higgins Clark, the author is reminiscent of Charlaine Harris. This book is light and airy, and kind of like cotton candy for the brain... not something you would want all the time, but you'd enjoy it thoroughly on occasion!

Kelly's aunt has been killed and it's very suspicious. They have a suspect in custody that doesn't seem right. So, she's trying to figure it out. This was my first "cozy" mystery and it wasn't bad. There were a few spelling errors, but the yarn descriptions were fabulous. It made me want to go to the yarn store! Plus, all the knitting made it fun for me since I'm a knitter.

Very light, no-thinking-necessary mystery chick-lit. Heroine solves murder of her 2 aunts. One of those stories where everything just fits together, no twisty plots, and everyone has just the right skills to contribute. For beginning mystery-readers and knitters.

Another new series for me and I enjoyed it. Although the plot moved slowly, I think it was intentionally so to let the reader get to know the main characters in the book. There are 8 in this series and I would bet that knitting group at the yarn store Lambspun of Colorado will appear in all of them. Kelly Flynn is in Fort Collins to take care of her beloved Aunt Helen's home and land. Aunt Helen was brutally murdered and, although the police believer they have the killer, Kelly is convinced it is someone other than the police suspect. She decides to do her own sleuthing to find out what really happened and who did it. I wasn't terribly surprised at the revelation of the perpetrator but the author did do a great job of pulling all of the clues together. I definitely want to continue the series.

Maggie Sefton has done an excellent job with this story. She has taken a rather hum-drum activity, added a dash of mystery and danger, mixed in a little humor, and created a very entertaining book. Kelly Flynn would be the first to admit her life in Washington, D.C., is a little on the dull side. But coming back to Colorado for her beloved aunt's funeral wasn't the kind of excitement she was seeking. The police are convinced that her Aunt Helen's death was the result of a burglary gone bad, but for the accountant in Kelly, things just aren't adding up. After all, why would her sensible, sixty-eight-year-old aunt borrow $20,000 just days before her death? With the help of the knitting regulars at House of Lambspun, Kelly's about to get a few lessons in cranking out a sumptuously colored scarf--and in luring a killer out of hiding...

This is the first book by a new mystery writer. The plot was entertaining enough, but the characters are rather shallow and not well developed. The author repeats her rather clicheed scenery descriptions a few too many times for my tastes. (I was tempted to mail her a thesaurus). Here second book, Needled to Death, was a bit of an improvement. Since I'm an avid knitter, I'll probably read her next installment as well.
