The book got me interested right away. Then it just died and dragged in the middle, The author just seemed to be filling up the pages with boring dialogue, and filler. By page 200 I wanted to just flip to the back and get it over with. I stuck it out. It picked back up in the last 40 pages. Then the murder solution was very anti climatic. I really can not recommend this book, the knitting was not as prominent or as interesting. The characters were all boring and just melded into a bunch of boring faceless similar women. I want more twists and turns, or better dialogue, or better cozy hobby stuff than this book offered.

Nice easy cozy read, good mystery, but not too hard to figure out, even with a few twists and turns and a couple of surprises at the end. Nice characters. Looking forward to the next one and the continued friendships.

This is the second in the series and I have not had the opportunity to pick up the first one. Kind of reminded me of Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street series because of the knitting and the group of women, but that's where it ended. Maggie, Phoebe, Dana, Suzanne, and Lucy are all great friends. They spend time together quite often in Maggie's knitting store, but they also get together once a week for dinner and knitting. When one of their friends is found dead in her pool, the women are certain she was murdered. The alcohol and drugs found in her system don't sway them from their determination.

A wonderful and warm camaraderie is found with these women and I quite enjoyed myself. Different characters that mesh well together; you can tell they really cared about each other. I've tried knitting on and off over the years, but I just can't seem to get the knack of it. I crochet and I love it! But there are some recipes, knitting instructions and a letter to the reader from each of the characters in the back of the book. If you like cozy mysteries give this one a try!

Okay cozy mystery with a knitting background. This time it features the drowning death of a wealthy knitter with a new, young husband. Not surprisingly, neither the death nor the husband is quite on the up-and-up.

Gloria Sterling had it all -- money, looks, and a new sexy young husband. So when she's found floating face down in her own swimming pool, shock waves ripple through tiny Plum Harbor. At the Black Sheep Knitting Shop, Maggie Messina and her circle are devastated to lose their dear friend -- a woman as colorful as her fabulous yarn creations.
The police are quick to call it an accident, but sorting out Gloria's final hours leaves too many loose ends to satisfy her friends. The vivacious, fifty something cougar had her French manicured tips in more than a few pots, and the threads of some inside deals stashed in her chic knitting tote.
Who was the last person to see Gloria alive on that quiet summer night? Two empty wine glasses suggest she wasn't home alone knitting the entire evening.... The Black Sheep need to know the truth and set out to unravel -- stitch by stitch -- the weighty secrets that pulled poor Gloria under.

This was a fun cozy read --- knitting, eating, mystery and murder all rolled into one GREAT read! Counting on each other... Meet the Black Sheep knitters -- five smart, funny women who love to knit, gossip, and solve crimes. The characters were well defined, story well plotted and well written. Thoroughly enjoyed the story and read it in a day (that always makes my day!)!!!!
