Ugh. I kept waiting for the book to develop a plot. The characters are vacuous, hollow, without substance and the narrator is self-centered and superficial. Maybe I'm just a geneation too old for this kind of narcissistic writing, but I would have flunked it as a piece of creative writing back when I taught English. No stars from me.

I thought this book was okay. I think I was expecting a little bit more about the personal ads and less about the authors life. It was an interesting perspective on his role at the newspaper and the changes as newspapers are being bought out and the focus on making money more than journalism

I expected more personal ads and less about the writer's personal life. It was an okay book but not one that I'd read again.

The book jumps around too much to too many topics - very unfocused. The author should have stuck to the personal ads and saved his personal life stuff for memoir. I would not recommend.

Very funny . a look into the world of personal ads

This book made me laugh out loud! Written in a light, comical style - very entertaining.

A strangely bittersweet look at personal ads. Very much like early David Sedaris works. 3 stars
