From the back of the book:

"Below the thunders of the upper deep;
Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken Sleepeth.

The almost imperceptible beginnings and the cruelly terrifying consequences of this new threat to the world are seen through the eyes of a radio scriptwriter and his wife. Told with convincing detail and immediacy, this novel shares with John Wyndham's other books the distinction of being one of the few modern works of science fiction to bear comparison with the famous novels of H. G. Wells.

'Ingenious, horrifying and well-told' - Guardian

Great book by a great sci-fi author. I would recommend this author to anyone who likes vintage science fiction....if you have not already met up with him, give him a try.

The author was English so most of his writings are either centered in England or reference the country.
