Great book! Poirot decides he wants to retire, but not before he takes on twelve exemplary cases that mirror the labors of Hercules.

These are twelve quickie seemingly innocuous Poirot stories. Near retirement, Poirot takes on these unusual cases: for him at least. Few begin with murder; some have none. A kidnapped dog, a young girl disappears from a train, a swindler organizes a pseudo church, etc.: each case symbolic of one of Hercules labors from mythology. Easy to read, short on investigation, all relying on Poirots extraordinary power of insight. A good book for the waiting room.

Once again Christie makes her egotistic, eccentric detective very interesting.

I love all of Agatha Christie's books. I have quite a few of them.
