All Christie books are good, and while my preference is for Miss Marple, Poirot in this book excels.
Poirot was ready to take his final bow--if only he could cap his career by finding a fitting challenge to his matchless genius. Little did he dream, however, that when he accepted the task of finding a lost Pekingese he was beginning a series of twelve tests by terror that would lead him from the peaceful parks of London to the perverse depths of a human hell-- and to the one figure of evil whom even Poirot could not defeat.
One of Agatha Christie's greatest, featuring Detective Hercule Poirot... he was about to take his final bow, but little did he know that when he accepted the task of finding a lost Pekinese, he would soon be in a terror that would lead him from the peaceful parks of London to the perverse depths of a human hell ~ and to the one figure of evil whom even he could not defeat!
It had been a few years since I had read much Christie. It was fun to get requainted with the detective. They were also short stories I was not familiar with. the stories are based around the theme of Hercules' labors, so it is not just a miscellanous collection of stories.
