Oh, what a tangled plot. But that is certainly appropriate, as the plot centers around the wool trade.
Owen Archer and his wife Lucie, assisted by a number of others, eventually solve it all, but without the usually required complete happy ending. People get hurt. This includes nice people and some not-so-nice but not-so-bad.
And we find that churchmen are just as susceptible to temptation as they are today.
Only my second book, but I am really enjoying the series.
I have read all the books and am waiting impatiently for more.
