Having just finished Luciens story I immediately picked up Jacindas story. I am so glad I found this author. I love series but usually get bored and try to spread them out some. Not the case with series on the Knight family.

Jacinda Knight, youngest sister with five overbearing brothers is tired of being ruled by her brothers. She is also trying to live down her legacy of being the only daugher of the Hawkscliffe Harlot. Jacinda mother was shunned by polite society since she gave birth to six children to four different fathers. The Ton is just waiting for Jacinda to be the harlot that her mother was and is tired of the whispers and also fears her own wanton feelings. She decides to flee town and go to France. In route she is robbed and flees into an alley where she is forced to hide in a garbage heap. She witnesses a huge gang fight with the areas rival gangs. Still hiding she is found by the gang leader Billy Blade, whom she had meet previously at her brothers home.

Not knowing who she is Billy proceeds to fall for her. After he discovers who she is he promptly returns her to her brothers (mostly untouched).

Billy is also not who he appears to be and circumstances cause him to leave the underworld and move back into the ton. He crosses Jacindas path and decides to marry her. Jacinda has not forgiven him for bring her back home and makes his persuit nearly impossible.

Gaelen Foley continues to be one of my favorite romance writers. This book exemplifies her ability to not just write a story but paint it visually in the reader's mind. Jacinda came across is playful and confident without being unlikable. Billy Blade was one tasty character. Ahem. The way these two characters play off one another is extremely sexy and fun to read.

Somewhat half-assed. The hero was more fun when he was a thief living in the stews. When he puts on fancy clothes and assumes his title, he loses most of his appeal.

This is another Gaelen Foley master piece. It had me laughing with Jacinda's attitude. I enjoyed it very much

By far this is my favorite of the Knight series. I liked how it was a reverse of the many romance novels that came out in the 1800s - you know with the "low-born" woman finding her true identity in time to marry the man of worth. Billy Blade was really the center piece of this work - "watching" him struggle to navigate polite society after so many years on the street was poignant, but amusing. Foley did a much better job on the end as well. I would definitely recommend this book.

Book Four in the Knight Miscellany series, this is Jacinda's story. Fleeing marriage to a "stuffy" Lord Griffith (poor man finds love several books later, thank goodness), Jacinda finds herself at the mercy of Billy Blade, a flashy young man she first encountered in 'Lord of Ice'. When Jacinda finds herself in an extremely vulnerable, and smelly, position, Billy rescues her from some bloodthirsty gang members, sets her to rights, kisses her into oblivion, and then, when he discovers who she really is, takes her home.

Several weeks later, Billy is the one in a vulnerable position, as he must re-enter the Ton as part of a bargain with his estranged father. He has decided that he must marry Jacinda, she has other ideas. She does decide to make Billy her project, though, steering him through their society. Along the way they become close friends, and eventually lovers.

If you like loveable bad boys, Billy is your man. He's rough, tough, tatooed, and possessed of - as we are reminded at least once each chapter - an impressive set of compact muscles. Jacinda is gorgeous, and in the words of (forgive me for this) Britney Spears, "not quite a girl, not yet a woman." They both have some growing up to do, but they've managed to do it by the end of the book. There's plenty of interaction with the characters from the previous books, and Lizzie's and Alec's stories are set up, as well. The story straddles Billy's life in the criminal underworld and Jacinda's life in the upper strata, with plenty of varied characters from each. I love this author for successfully mixing descriptive narrative with interesting dialogue in all her books, and this one is no exception. If you order, you may just end up deciding to hang on to your copy.
