Interesting details of the rules surrounding the proper behavior expected of women & how this circumscribes their movement & participation in society.
I have been reading this series as each book has good plots, interesting charqacters, and a bit of romance mixed in with the mystery.
Enjoy the mysteries!

Simple a light read. I found rather silly and simple.

Great Book! I wouldn't miss a M. C. Beaton Mystery.
If I had realized that Marion Chesney was also M.C. Beaton, I wouldn't have ordered this book, but it was better than I had expected. However, it didn't all hang together, especially at the beginning, if you understand my gist, but she is writing in the wrong era.
I have really enjoyed all 4 books in this series. This is the most recent one, and judging by the last page, it IS the last. Full of adventure and a romance that needs a lot of help because the two involved are so hard-headed! My only negative comment on this one is that is seems to me that at the last 2 pages, Marion Chesney said "You know, I don't feel like writing any more of these. Let's make everything resolve right NOW!" and waved her magic literary wand. It was SOOOOO abrupt. Love the details, love the writing, great book. Please read the 4 in order to really understand this one!!!

The last (so far ) in the Lady Rose Summer series....in this addition, she finds herself accused of murder and she and her in name only fiancé must find the real culprit ....naturally there is plenty of danger and romance.....an OK series....
