I can't begin to tell how good this book is. It's the story of a young woman named Sarah who was totally devoted to the cause of Women's Suffrage. She almost lost her life due to brutal treatment during The Night of Terror (which I had never heard of, by the way). It was very interesting to read about the sacrifices made by brave women to have the right to vote. Highly Recommended!

Twenty year old Sarah loses her mom and dad. They worked for women's right to vote and so does she. but Sarah is nearly raped and beaten by Roger who claims to love her, until she refuses to marry him. Roger admits to murdering her dad and-several women. This is a sensational story.Roger is arrested and goes to prison. Meanwhile, Sarah pickets in front of the White House and is arrested and gets 60 days in prison WHEN she is Beaten, forced fed and gets pneumonia. Sarah asks a kind MATRON, RUTH to call Alex and she Does. Sarah turns herself into God's hands. Alex comes with his sister Ellen and her kind husband, Edmund, a physician who treats Sarah. Sarah gets well and goes back to the country and marries Alex. They have a baby CATT, who is named after Carrie Chapman Catt. And with her whole family Sarah watches as the 23rd amendment passes in Tennessee giving women across the US the right to vote.
