Maya Banks is delving into the "breed" series in a yummy way. This book is a good as the first if not better.

I really liked this one and the first book Into the Mist. They are both excellent books with strong women who are bound and determined to be nobody's fools. Maya Banks manages to make her heroine Katie strong without being unable to give or bend, yet vulnerable without making her a wuss or a doormat. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm really, really looking forward to more in this series. These guys have been experimented on by this gas that gives them the ability to shift into another form/forms without their knowledge or consent. Reminds me a little of the Ghostwalker series by Christine Feehan, only those guys can't actually shift shape. Very good story with a bit of a new twist to keep it fresh and interesting. I like that the characters from the first book show up in this one. You get to keep up with what is going on with them. Excellent series so far.

Paranormal erotic romance by Maya Banks, and follow up to Into The Mist. I think I'm in the minority here - I didn't care for this book. Brothers and mercenaries Ian and Braden are searching for Katie, because the man who turned them into shifters wants her. But, Katie has been taking care of herself for a long time, and doesn't appreciate their efforts. The plot is fair, and I like Katie's character for the most part. I don't buy that this woman who has been brutalized and stalked by somebody else, accepts so easily the sorts of things Ian and Braden want. I think the book must be smokin' hot, because other readers loved it, but I was just bored with it.

Contemporary setting, paranormal mercenaries/agents saving the world one crisis at a time...

Some new players join the group, still trying to find solutions to what was done to them...
