This was a great book by an awesome writer. I loved the similarities to Beauty & the Beast, but was even more enthralled by the differences. This was definitely a unique twist to the classic. I read through the entire book without stopping. Two thumbs up from me! I'd give it 3 if I had them!

Even though I could live without the sex scenes, I found this book to be most enjoyable. This is by far my most favorite 'adult' retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The characters seem real and there is so much mystery that you are compelled to stay up late till your eyes can no longer stay open just to see what is going to happen next.
Definitely a page turner and I loved the romance development of Isabella and Nicolai. I will say that this book itself is quite similar to her other book The Scarletti Curse. Very similar in that they r in Italy and there's some of the italic Italian words thrown in, as well as a similar story line, but I still loved it. It's better than the Scarletti Curse for sure.
I recommend. Think you'll like it's simple easy quick read.

I love Christine Feehan's imagination! This book was no exception. It was different, intriguing and kept you wondering. And, of course, it has a great ending! The only part that bothered me a LOT was the abuse and multiple rape of a very young girl. I thought that could have been changed to something less upsetting. It wasn't talked about in a lot of detail but enough that it turned my stomach. Still, this was a fun book to read and I had a hard time putting it down.

Impoverished aristocrat Isabella Vernaducci would defy death itself to rescue her imprisoned brother. though fear formed a fist around her heart, she'd even brave the haunted, accursed lair of the lion - the menacing palazzo of legendary, lethal Don Nicolai DeMarco whose growl was velvet, purring heat - whose eyes held dark, all-consuming desire. And when the don commanded her to become his bride, she....
