I enjoyed the content of this book as much as the first one...the "evolution" of the childrens' growth was pretty amazing. The villain couldn't be more menevolent...he has no redeeming qualities. Perhaps the ending was in line with the story but seemed a bit over the top.The story is very imaginative.
Patterson said that these books are his most popular in the world...don't see how. His Murder Club and Alex Cross books are much superior. He remains one of my favorite authors.

I have always enjoyed JAmes Patterson. This book was an interesting and entertaining read. One could not help but fall in love with the main characters in this book. Mr Patterson did well, in drawing his readers in, so that they couldn't put this book down. I read it in 2 days!

A very different book by James Patterson. Six children are made in a Laboratory. .. They are perfect ....they have wings ... and ...they can fly! The writing is terrific and terrifying. Who knows what today's labs are creating. This book could be the headlines of tomorrow. Very different book by a wonderful author.

Fantasy woven into an intreging story - James Patterson taking a break from mysteries, but putting his talent for suspense to good use.

I did not like this book. In fact I did not finish it. I read the first book in this series, and made it through, but this one dragged. I do not like extremely impossible story lines.

I thought this was probably one of the most ridiculous, badly written books I'd ever had the misfortune to lay my hands on. I don't recommend it.

Great sequel to "When the Wind Blows". A good read.

Meh. Patterson should have left good enough alone. This was just a rehashing of the first books, really, a clone of itself. It did leave the ending open for an interesting 3rd book, if he decides to go that way. I do want to read the YA books he did about this same storyline (at least I think they were)... anyway, worth a read if you have nothing else better to do, I was disappointed though.
I am not typically a fan of supernatural books...but this was a very memorable story children that can fly, and their travels to a place they think they can be safe: The Lake House. The ending was wonderful.
I hated for this story to end!
I didn't care for this book.
Great Series from Patterson again. 6 books in the series and they are all exciting, 4 of the Maximum Ride Series. But start with Lake House then When the Wind Blows..
Great book, couldn't put it down.
A bit odd, I was not aware of the series, but it was heart warming and kept you guessing

Excellent follow up to When the Wind Blows. I couldn't put this book down.
This is the sequel to When the Wind Blows, and it was so good. It's great to know what happens to those flying children.
Their parents don't understand them, the other kids pick on them, and there are hit men tracking them. In the disappointing sequel to When the Wind Blows, the genetically altered bird-children are back, up to their pinfeathers in danger. This time, Max and her "flock" are up against insane Dr. Ethan Kane and something called the "Resurrection Project," whose aim is world domination. The story plays like an action comic. Hope Davis and Stephen Lang share the narration responsibilities. Unfortunately, every scene is manipulated with music, which detracts from otherwise entertaining performances by two fine narrators. Patterson is a first-class storyteller even when he's not at his best, although improbable plotting and stereotyped characters manage to ground his beautiful futuristic children.

The six children have escaped horrifying government experiments, a childhood in captivity, and a frightening brush with death. Living out in the world for the first time, they yearn to be reunited with Kit and Frannie, the couple who saved their lives. And Max, the leader of the flock, is seized by an overpowering fear that the kids are about to face a danger greater than any they've ever known.
All that the children want is to return to the one place they have ever felt truly protected - the waterfront cabin known as the Lake House. But in order to get there, they must thwart the sinister plans of a survivor from their worst nightmare - plans that not only keep Kit, Frannie, and the children in constant peril, but threaten the future of human existence. And it's a battle they must be willing to pay any price to win.

Unreadable tripe. Patterson can be a good writer, but this was just terrible. The voice of the narrator, a woman, never rang true. The fantasy veers from charming to revolting. I couldn't believe how badly written this book was. An interesting premise, but the characterizations were so flat, it was hard to remember who was who. Except for the "purple prose" and frequent sex scenes, The Lake House seemed to be written on a YA level. Skip this one.
