Time magaazine said it was one of the ten best plays of the year......I see why. Great read!

The script of the stage play. This is the TRUE story of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man who was discovered bound to a fence in the hills outside Laramie, Wyoming, savagely beaten and left to die in an act of brutality and hate. Members of the Tectonic Theater Project made six visits to Laramie to interview people of the town. This is the chilling, moving result.

I'm interested in reading more about this event but I don't think the play format was the best way for me to read it. It also just feels super weird to me that someone thought to even make this real life event into a play.

Theatre project based on interviews in a small town where a young gay man was brutally murdered.
