I didn't care for this series nearly as much as I liked the Magdalena Yoder series. I read the whole series in order, and with each book, I had to check to make sure I hadn't missed one in between, there was such a big continuity gap in the storyline. There are lots of details that are inconsistent from book to book. All in all, it was entertaining, but not great. I realize that's not much incentive to read the series, but maybe you'll identify with southern women better than I do!

My favorite kind of mystery: a murder, a little humor and a suggestion of a romance.

For a first in a series, did a great job holding your interest. Ending was a surprise but all explained... can't wait to read more by author

Interesting mystery, but I did not take to the protagonist. She was too belligerent and angry. Not funny.

I love it and glad I ordered them all on just the premise. Book one and it was just the first of the series I find a fun read.

Cute Cozy, but main character Abigail is a lot like Mags Yoder of her PennDutch series.

First in the series. I enjoyed this. Reminded me a lot of the Magdalena Yoder series that Myers writes, had a lot of the same humor. Still got a kick out of it and will read the others in the series.

I had never heard of this author before so was very excited to read her books. I wanted to start her Pennsylvania Dutch series but haven't gotten my hands on them yet so started this series. I love a good cozy mystery and I have #2 ready to read here. It has been too long since I read this to remember the details but I will definitely continue with her books.
I just finished reading Larceny and Old Lace. I had previously read a book from later in this series, which I also enjoyed, however reading book 1 illuminated the characters I had previously met in the 'Ming and I'. Not only does the mystery have many twists, Ms Myers humor gives quite an enjoyable look at the life of her characters. Of course living in South Carolina I could relate to many of the terms and places mentioned in this series.

I found myself laughing out loud while I was reading this book which is a clue for me that it's a really good book. I couldn't help picturing Abigail doing all the crazy things in the book and getting all tangled up and trying to solve her aunt's death. All of the characters in the book are just that "characters" and what a crazy bunch they are. I could almost picture them and all their quirky habits. I'm now looking for the next book of hers to read.

Great fast read. If you are a busy mom with many interuptions- this book is for you. It has spots of humor and a fast pace mystery with loveable characters.
Enjoyed reading this bok especially since I live in the town the main character writes about. Abigail is a good friend and she continues to search for the killer of her aunt even though eveyone else thinks the killer is captured. Can't wait to start book#2.
