Still not quite sure what to think of this one. I'm generally not a fan of military novels and this one was a bit hard to get into. I'm very glad that I stuck with it as they do come up with a different way to battle the zombies.
However, the WTF explanation of how the virus started really was a terrible disappointment and felt like a bit of a cop out (barely spent much time at all explaining).
I did like the gender reversals of the woman, Maria, going out to do battle while her lover stayed at home and it was interesting seeing how both coped with the separation.
